I think it's actually gonna be the alternate Barry. There's a quick shot in one of the trailers where he seems angry at main Barry. I think main Barry will travel back multiple times when someone dies, trying to make sure everyone stays alive, only to come to terms that he can't save everyone and someone (his mom, probably) has to STAY dead. This will anger other Barry, who wants to save everyone, and lead to his corruption into Dark Flash as he tries to kill main Barry to save everyone else. Or something like that. Who knows?

I think using Black Flash is fine since it a throwaway concept for this movie as a one time villain. If they had cast one of his established rogues then they'd have to cast someone in the role with no certainty they would return, so if they would have cast the perfect Cpt Cold or Reverse Flash it would've been a waste of casting.

I wouldn't say black flash or the black racer is a villain just a force of nature and his suit really cool and the scary thing is that since he is the grim ripper of speedsters he can't really die or be destroyed unless a speedster like wally races him to the end of time there death can't exist. basically black flash is basically death for speedsters cause normal death for humans is to slow to catch speedsters so the speed force creates the black flash to balance the universe out just like how the black racer is death for new gods

I've just seen the movie myself so heavy spoiler warning for the text below... I advise you watch the movie before painfully reading my terrible spoiler-filled explanation. From what I could tell, The Dark Flash is supposed to be a mix of numerous speedsters. The zombie like growl when he hits Barry out of the speedforce after he changed the timeline is a very Black Flash kind of thing. The way he looks is very much like the grim reaper of speedsters. The whole thing about it being a future, corrupted version of the younger Barry definitely reminds me of the CW's Savitar, being obsessed with changing the timeline. Here's the big one... Reverse Flash. "How is Dark Flash like Thawne?". It's simple... Dark Flash's knowledge and ability to manipulate the timeline so that everything falls in place of his favour. If these are aspects of other speedsters the writers purposely but into Dark Flash then it could have just been a way to have Thawne without having Thawne. Keeping the Flashpoint story and important moments without making it a copy. This all may be me being an idiot and obsessing over everything Andy did but hopefully someone can find some sense in whatever mess I just typed out. K bye.
