Thanks for clearing up any confusion. This is what we've been told as Roblox employees: - The event was not cancelled because of the tweet. The organizers were aware of it, had contacted the police, but had been advised to continue on since it didn't seem to pose a real threat according to them. Extra police showed up, however, to ensure everyone's safety. - We were ordered to end the event by the police after someone was arrested for trespassing and was found to be carrying an illegal gun. They said they would be conducting an investigation, so we assume it was so they could make sure there were no other people involved. As far as I know, no one at Roblox has heard from the police yet, but we haven't been informed of much since.

thanks for making this video man ♥️ this entire situation was horrifying to witness go down online but i'm SO glad everyone was safe in the end and that it turned out to be super fun after all :]

To make matter worse, the shooting hoax individual impersonated a completely random person who they had a vendetta against. But at the same time, said person who was framed may also be one of our potential leads in identifying the real perpetrator.

I am very, very glad everyone is safe! I didn't know the full story behind all of this - I was one of the people who thought that the tweet was the "threat". I am so grateful for Roblox taking care of everybody and cancelling the event - which of course is sad, but it's for the better, after all, as you've mentioned, they know more about your safety than us Thank you for spreading the information! I wish we still lived in 2011, when everyone laughed at how janky and funny Roblox was. Even though I missed that period. I still can relate to how fun it was, how Roblox was less corprate and had a style, where everyone was safe.

Watching this all unfold was nothing but crazy. Thinking about what COULD'VE happened really just makes your stomach turn. I'm glad everyone is safe, and I hope the bad people involved get charged for all of this. Thank you for clearing up the confusion around the community and onto more protected Roblox official events in the future.

This shouldn't have to be even fathomable. The Roblox community used to be full of nice kind-hearted individuals who play games with eachother. Not idiotic morons putting literal domestic terror threats just for a "joke". Its extremely disappointing that RDC was cancelled, but I'm glad you are safe :D Edit: Not to mention the "Simon" incident and various others :C

i hope the innovation awards still happen. but i’m glad roblox is more concerned about safety than the event.

I just hate the fact that parlo got blamed for it for "clout". He didn't do anything and he seems genuinely distraught by the accusations. I just hope he gets better.

Omg, I didn't hear any of this! This is a horrible situation through in through, I'm just glad everyone's safe. And I want to give a MASSIVE thanks to you for not giving any names of these people (if you can even call them that after what they've done). Some people just do this stuff to get attention, and doing something as simple as saying their name gives them that power and attention. I'm also glad that you didn't say anything was for a fact even though it wasn't and that you still found enjoyment in the event. The reason people said the tweet got the event cancelled was because the "threat" was likely what the threat was implying.

Huge props to Roblox for acting quickly and keeping everyone safe, sure it sucks that RDC got canceled but better safe than sorry

I would like to ask about your time at rdc laughability. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed it! Did you see any notable members of the Roblox community? If so, who did you see? I’ve got my eyes set on making a good Roblox game so that one day I may attend RDC, but I’m afraid my game will not make the cut. Where there some creators like to creators of games such as “The strongest battlegrounds”? Well to clear up some confusion, a popular roblox dev was found trespassing and and having illegal guns in his car, SimBuilder He was arrested at the RDC and I think that was the reason they had to cancel not just cuz of simbuilder, But because of the tweet also.

I might have a theory regarding the Fake Threat and "Simon"s cases. The fake threat could've been genuine and had been an alt account of "Simon", and the last message they put could've been in attempt to get the RDC's guard down. JUST REMEMBER THIS IS MY THEORY CONNECTING THE TWO WE KNOW ABOUT TOGETHER.

Im really glad everyone at RDC was ok but I dont think SimBuilder having a gun in his car was a real threat considering its san diego especially, where crime rate is VERY high and where hes from also has loose gun laws but I genuinely dont think he would shoot up the place just bc he couldnt make it inside

I heard about a dev by the name called @Simbuilder. He was allegedly arrested for trying to sneak into the conference. The police found many handguns in his car. I am not sure about all of it, but fortunately he is arrested.

the real reason was probably a threat that wasnt public

Reason is a developer brought a gun to with piercing Bullets after he tried breaking into RDC

Ok so I have the scoop (this is according to kreekcraft) so it was relating to the guy who got arrested for assaulting a cop the reason the event was cancelled was after he was arrested the cops found atleast 1 gun with ARMOR PIERCING ROUNDS (aka this was planned for months) and other high capacity mags and stuff which is why RDC was cancelled. (dang i typed this before he talked about the weapons.)
