You know you're bad when ouroboros involves taking out the cult.

You know you're bad when even Ouroboros is part of the "everyone" trying to take you out.

I don't know about others, but I find it sadly ironic that Guy's vision for the SSS was a group that would bring individual strengths together into one to help Crossbell, but that he himself died working on his own.

I just found your channel. And let me tell you, you've gotten yourself a new subscriber. Playing JRPGs with Japanese voices and nice commentary is my cup of tea.

13:57 God, I distinctively remember when I heard this soundtrack (Gnosis) for the first time during middle of the night, like around 12-1am. I have never felt anything so unsettling from a Trails game before, or since. I got so much goosebumps!!!

Same for me; also that I wasn't exactly expecting the game to kind of go in that direction and then suddenly we have this....

I can totally relate, I also got to that part late at night, after a day of work, man got goosebumps and had trouble getting sleep after that, I was looking for Momo's umbrella one day, also dealing with mafiosos in the style of a good 80's police flick and then bam! satanist drug addicts and child abusers cult, Trails changing the mood in their usual way

It is important to remember that while oroborous has a larger goal they all follow, they do afaik let their subordinates employ their own free will. I wonder and assume this applies to even people like Wizeman? Idk

Don't you just want to jump in and give Tio a hug. Poor girl was holding pack a PTSD episode since the visit to the Moon Temple. Also, that one still of everyone planning the attack on the cult was a real treat for me too and probably anyone who played sky first. I was like hey "hey, I recognize that mustache in the middle, and oh look there's Zin in the back." It's also good to know the obsession with barriers is hereditary.

Remember when Kevin and Ries were sent to Gehenna in Sky the 3rd? They had to fight against the soul of a child that was turned into a monster by a cult of fanatics in a ritual involving artifacts, ring any bells?

@@elehayyme making a summary, these cultist guys were so nasty that every organization had a part in its destruction, the bracers, Crossbell police, the big nations military, Ouroboros and the Gralsritter, oh, I really want to watch your impressions when the truth comes to light, but there's still a long road ahead for that, enjoy the ride :)

The D:G cult finally takes the stage. Now you know what Tio's been hiding all this time. I guessed most of her backstory before this scene but still, hearing it from her, with so much anguish in her voice, hit me like a truck. And I absolutely love the fact that even in the middle of a story like this, she still managed to throw in a roast or two. Suffice to say, I was glad that I had prioritized getting her bonding points over Elie's and Randy's. I'm glad you recognized everyone in that one flashback pic (wouldn't be a Trails game without mentioning Cassius mfin Bright in some form, dude's a living legend). That last man seems to be a random Erebonian officer, judging by the design of the uniform. Probably shown in there to emphasize that the case was truly international, regardless of how at odds the countries were (since the other people represent Crossbell, Liberl and Calvard). Sergei also reveals the truth about Guy coming up with the idea of SSS (that was the secret Grace had mentioned in the hotel) and mentions Arios' past. It's actually funny, I'm currently playing Daybreak and just last night I encountered a policeman-turned-bracer who mentioned wanting to meet a certain Divine Blade who had made the same career change.

I think the last guy is supposed to be "one eyed" Zechs Vander - at least that would make a lot of sense including why Cassius and he know each other personally (as highlighted in Second Chapter). Also, at this point in the series he was the only Erebonian that they had showed with those shoulder pads, and the only military people that have those shoulder pads seem to be the generals, and he is the only relatively thin general that they have in the series (eg. Mueller doesn't have those shoulder pads). Zechs is probably THE general that they have that would be useful in such a search and destroy operation, and I am sure that even Osborne would have sent Zechs to do such a thing, regardless of any conflict that those two may have. The counter-argument to this is that they rarely/never show Zechs in his military cap.

@@richardisted3703 I always believed that the two have known each other through the Hundred Days War, given Cassius' semi-mocking tone and Zechs' shock mixed with anger in that scene (ZV: "oh no, you're NOT outplaying us again!"; CB: "wanna bet?"). As for the shoulder pads, they're not strictly limited to generals (e.g. a certain colonel from Reverie wears sth similar) and I'd actually argue that this was someone below the rank of general, considering that this particular pad looks less ornate. Now add the sheer size of Erebonia's army on top of that and there are probably a few dozen people who could have been sent there. If Falcom wanted it to be Zechs, they could have simply swapped him with Zin and show us the eyepatch.

@@elehayyme I think this is one of the advantages of a smaller party of player characters as well as there not being a total myopic focus on Lloyd and his backstory; this allows a greater emphasis the synergies between the team. They use this approach and number of permanent party members in one of the later games and at again at least two of the main party members also became very popular.

game does a good job at making you hate the d∴g cult out of the gate. The thought that they abused and murdered probably hundreds of kids for what ? worship ? using "true wisdom" ? and they were enough to man 10 lodges.. makes me sick. I remember being pretty affected by sergei's sprites and attitude in the scene , I'm not used to resonate with disgust in stories but dang I could feel it there
