The Cutting Edge with Nick Larson | Never Summer Snowboards
Спорт
Watch Nick Larson carve across 15 inch thick ice on Georgetown Lake in Colorado. Testing 2024 snowboards that have Never Summer Industries cutting edge innovative technology, you can see these boards just tear through the ice.
These boards came straight from The Never Summer Factory in Denver in the exact condition that shops and online orders would receive them.

Why would heelside be much harder on ice?
@Kosss2001
Жыл бұрын
@@SlingShotKid007 to me heelside requires more balance because of how leg structure is. Toes is easier because ankles can flex and make it easier to lock in that edge.
First test of my Snow Joe was a massive blizzard that dropped 20+ inches of snow with drifts well over 3ft. kzread.infoUgkxoHYZbq5g9fkcAtinlTqstNlje-UQkCHN This snow thrower is definitely not designed for this much snow but it powered through it. We did have to knock down taller drifts with a shovel and at times the chute was awkward because snow banks were much higher than it could throw, but still much easier than shoveling. The plus side of the small size is the maneuverability. Easy to lift up to walkways and works in tight spaces near cars. Highly recommend.Note: after assembling it started but did not turn. The belt wasn't in place. Easy fix.
We know you at least tried a heelside carve and we demand to see the failure

I used to keep my edges sharp enough to not care about ice much, but to watch you carve like that is just impressive. A simple beauty.

Cuts into the ice like a hockey blade, this is epic🤙
If you're not on the edge, you're taking up too much space. Yessah!

I have designed and built snowboards with multiple companies that produce their decks in the United States. I can honestly say that without question my neversummer boards are the most durable, responsive, and trusty boards that I own. My shaper series goes where I want it when I want it to while carving, and my Proto lets me land switch so well that people can’t tell which I stance I belong to. I take pride in knowing that snowboards of this quality are produced right down the street from my house in Denver. Keep up the good work, and keep those edges tight! Thanks for not using slave labor to make your products or bulk ordering cheap products with your labeling from Alibaba like ninety percent of the industry. If marketing sees this get off your ass and go tell the guys doing the actual work in the warehouse that you appreciate them. Cheers, Your friendly neighborhood snowboarder

Loving my never summer skis! So happy they allowed me to buy the Grand lodge edition prototypes from a rental shop in Utah
This is beyond epic
Beautifull. Nice drone camera work!
love this
Ryan knapton vibes with this video. Awesome shots and awesome riding bro.
This is literally changing the game and you are the trendsetter! 🥶🥶🥶🥶🔥🔥🔥
Nice to see something new. Subscribed.
This is one slick production! 👍🇬🇧
On my 3rd Never Summer board. They hold up to a good beating, and when I needed customer support they were awesome to deal with as well. Definitely highly recommended.

I mean how good are they if you went through 3 of them? I been snowboarding nearly 10 years and I'm on my second board lmao And I don't go once a year or something, I'm on my 19th day of this season all ready.

They hold up as good as any. That person either rode the 👏 out of them, rode them a loooong time, or just kept buying new boards because their standards are different. In terms of literal “can I still ride this” they will last as long as any if not, longer. I’ve been riding mine for three years and a total of probably around 100 days on the slopes including park, mogul, and powder riding and have smashed it into trees and rails and the like and I’ve only needed one repair. Ntm how many times it’s been dropped and once might’ve been banged into a parking garage since the car was too tall with the board on top. So… ya they’re 👌 Jesus loves you God bless✝️

Sick video. Pretty bold to be doing all that with a bareback dome, especially on literal ice 😄.
BADASS
as soon as i saw the shot i was thinking "this looks that spot off the I-70 headed to Denver from the mtns... glad it gets some cool use when frozen!
great song of beach house!!!
Nice ICE BOARDING VIDEO!!! those boards would be perfect for the north east !
Amazing. Beautiful edge control and camera work! The turn at 0.50 was my fav, so extended and styled out with leading arm looking so relaxed. I'd love to see a heel side turn go down.. I appreciate a solid lateral tilt is necessary in order to hold the toe side turn so maybe, with the high backs physics will not allow for a frontside turn? Maybe the next ice challenge?!

i'd love to see heel side too, but you couldn't hold such a hard on edge carve with tht binding setup - you can see how it extends beyond the board whereas toesid doesn't.
This was insane crazy carve on the ice!!!!
Wow - that's what you get when you know how to ice an edge properly. Very cool!
Cool ad to make you want to buy a “never summer” board!
That is insane
That's real knuckle draggin
So rad, seems like a Switchblade would be mounted to the board but nope, just a killer edge! Nice work NS.
Super creative.
nice idea
now that is a sharp ass edge bro
What an awesome way to showcase your tech. love it!
Just a casual powder day on the east coast
This is a great marketing move haha. I always say my rocker hybrid camber neversummer can hold an edge THAT well but clearly there are neversummers that can!!
this is just awesome, I havent got to snowboard in about 4 years now because of foot ulcers. I miss it so much! love to see stuff like this.
Finally a snowboard made for whistler conditions
No effin way! That's so, so sick! I so want to ride one!
Dear Neversummer team. I absolutely love your boards. I tore up my favorite board in 2014. It was a NS Revolver ‘08. When will you remake the Revolver? I absolutely destroyed superparks with that board. I thrashed kirkwood on a 6’ powder day on it launching 20’ cliffs. Wtf? Can we please get it put back in to production. Ive ridden a skate banana by lib tec, and also a NS west since then (amongst other boards) and never has another board ever compared. Rocker panel for life!!!!
Looks fun....
My only concern would be carrying a board with an edge like that in my hands lol.

@FuZzOtagE I'm being serious. Ice skates actually use a metal edge to produce traction just like skis and snowboards. Originally bone was used in lieu of steel. There are ice skates that date back to 3000 B.C. Ass..
Thats what I call carving

where we can watch the un-cut version with all the tries :) wondering how my tries you made :) IT"S GREAT!!!
How sharp do you want your edges? … yes!
What board was that?
I want to do this, what are some important preparations?
Would love to know how the board was set up - sharpening method, edge angles, etc. Also wondering if this could be achieved on skis. Thanks for the video!
Magic!!!🤣
Aight I'm sold! With the shitty ass icy hills in my area these are perfect
First thing I noticed on a never summer was the edge control and the sharpness of the edges to the hard pack
@shawnyg16

Ohh really I may have to consider one ; that’s how my old Ride cue series was , I’m on a yes greats Uninc and it’s great but it can’t handle hard pack as well; but that’s the compromise with softer boards but if that’s the case I’m gonna demo a never summer now ! Thanks for the tip
@XzoltronX

Very hard to imagine any never summer handling firm snow better than the Greats. Never Summers are not known for their carving or edge hold. The Greats is well known as maybe the best carving freestyle twin you can buy. Of course there are other more purpose built carving boards that do better. But if you really want carving performance, despite this really fun video, Never Summer is probably not the brand to pursue.
I saw this on insta, thought it was Photoshop! nice edit!
