Although this is an amazing music that I really love, birth of Gothic has been the master piece Bela Lugosi is Dead or Hollow Hils, from the mythical Bauhaus. Same generation, and Cure and Bauhaus are some what into dark sounds, except when Cure did Why Can't I be you, etc. But if you listen to Bela Lugosi is dead from 82 you will get the point: kzread.info/dash/bejne/i6iAzs-roqbHmqQ.html

Their musicianship has not detoriated at all and neither has his vocals.. Amazing.

Saw them in 1981 at Rock Werchter. Liked it. Then saw them again in 2001 at Roskilde; Blown back in time and had a very very nice feeling about that concert, like they hadn't changed or something and I instantly got back to some great feelings I had in the late 70's and early 80's. Hearing and seeing them here in 2019 it still brings chills into my spine an still very fresh and relevant performance. Interesting. Amazing band.
