While walking along the docks of Inkwell Isles, Cuphead and Mugman board a pirate ship and accidentally shove off to sea. The boys meet Captain Brineybeard, the ship’s captain, who brings them along on his quest to find his crush: Cala Maria, a half gorgon, half siren creature who is known for turning anybody who approaches to stone. When they do meet Cala, she turns Brineybeard to stone and shipwrecks them on a creepy cove beach.
