Jamie Stewart is such an underrated bassist, he was integral to The Cult's success.

He’s the reason i started playing bass. One of the most tight bassplayers I’ve ever heard. Not bad for a guitarist.

He was in the cell next to my dad's in Chino prison .... I believe he was there for drug charges... that's why he wasn't in the band later on.

Nigel Preston, a beast of a drummer, the best the band ever had, so sad he died so young.

The Southern Death Cult even though they never really released anything ae one of my all time favorite bands, the really early Cult stuff was great too.

There is something great about this early stuff.... Billy Duffy's Gretsch White Falcon with this delay (and this cool flutter effect).... everything so raw but maybe more thoughfully abstract and intellectual with the lyrics .... the 1984 Lyceum is one of my favourite live recordings of The Cult!

I loved SDC and right up to and including Love, but I just couldn’t take the leap to the metal era. Paid a fortune to see the 8323 tour just to relive these heady days ❤

I've said this before on YT and I'll say it again. Last year I moved house and accidentally threw out my Dreamtime and Lyceum chrome tape. This live album is so underated. Production, the band's timing and rarely ever dropping a note. Astbury's singing was top form. Glad they did definitives of these songs as The Cult.

The early post/punk stuff was the best. I remember listening to them in the radio for the first time around 1985 and blown away by what I heard. I never knew how important a drummer was to their sound. I put Nigel Preston up there with the greats

Yeah, i really don't know who they were, why didn't the integrity of this style carry them on. Instead they put out some weird ACDC crap, and then i saw Wives of Rock or something and Billy Duff had this Bimbo wifestyle life in some posh living condo scene of fake ass greedy people. It's still a mystery to me. I would like to think they got replaced by Illuminate clones and the original guys were eliminated to save mainstream society. hahaha.

Dreamtime was a stroke of genius. I thought the rot started stting in with She Sells Sanctuary, which I have never thought much of. I have to say, Rain was a good album, but radically different. After that they got very dull, but very huge.

I was an album after you. Loved Electric, Sonic Temple was when I started having problems with Cult. It's one thing to make a stripped down album in the vein of ACDC, but to trade in the Gretsch and chase down the American hair metal cock rock scene was fatal.
