They could have avoided all critique simply by making this story with other characters. The setting of "The Crow" makes it ideal to adapt the same story over and over but in different timelines and with different characters. Not even the newest tech in cinematic can beat the original Crow. It was a masterpiece!

Some movies just don’t need remakes. The original is a classic and tragically was Brandon Lee’s final performance, and the sequels that came after probably shouldn’t have even been made, but this just doesn’t need to exist.

There was a book they could have used as a guide. James O'Barr was even nice enough to draw it out so you could also see his vision.
