There is more than one version of the character in the comics, which seems to be true with many heroes. The Crow is usually an undead superpowered vigilante, resurrected by a supernatural bird that serves as a guide to restless souls and allows them to exact their revenge on their murderers. The bird gifts those it re-births with its powers and magic, which is said to be rooted in lost love. The most memorable version of the Crow was Eric. A gang of criminals murdered him and his fiancé, and Eric was forced to watch them kill her before they killed him. A year after his death, the crow resurrected his restless soul and allowed him to exact his revenge on those that had hurt him and the woman he loved. After Eric succeeded in murdering his victims, his soul was seemingly finally put to rest, but he would later return to help other heroes. Every Crow’s story is tragic and heartbreaking, and their sole purpose is seeking revenge and murdering those who have wronged them or those they love. While the response was mostly positive, many agreed that Momoa would be too big to play a hero that is usually one of the scrawnier characters in the comic book world. The response was definitely NOT positive & please don't refer to Brandon Lee as scrawny! He wasn't scrawny, he was just not bulked up like Mamoa, but was still fit & a waaay better fit for The Crow role. While deep down, I would love to see The Crow return, I just wouldn't want it to be without Brandon. He made the movie! It's his legacy. If you do a reboot with Bill Skaarsgard, I might wait til it becomes available to rent, but as much as I like Bill, he just doesn't do the part justice like Brandon did. Sorry. If you can do something else with Bill, it would probably be a much better & more lucrative idea. The sequels were horrible. Are you having the original director, or is he still finished bc Brandon is the only one that could do it justice?

I just watched another Trailer with Bill Skaarsgard in it & it was awful! The Narrator's voice was terrible & I've never seen Bill's acting so off! Maybe bc he had to repeat some of Brandon's lines instead of bringing his own version to this movie. If this is how the movie is, I'm afraid it won't do well at all. Bill has depth to & there was no depth to his character. This makes me sad bc it's an insult to the original, which is Brandon Lee-s legacy & a cult classic.

My thoughts exactly! Bill Skaarsgard is a legit actor with depth but what I saw was sooo off from his norm. If they do this reboot, I think it should be a different Crow, not Brandon's, & let Bill embrace 'His' version of his Crow the way he feels it. This is no good for anyone if it comes out like this.

Movie quality doesn't determine the need or no need for a reboot. I can name shitton of original movies that are absolute masterpieces with a decent reboot that doesn't take away anything from the legacy of that movie. Sometimes, even contributes to it.

Didn't need a reboot at all. The original director left the first film and didn't film a sequel because he stated when Brandon died, thats where it ended for him. The sequels are not filmed by the same director. The original movie should be left as is as a testament to Brandon Lee's last performance before his untimely death on the set of the movie. The original The Crow can never be topped, and this will be a sorry performance. I will not ever see this movie and will continually advocate for my friends and family not to watch it either. Rest in piece, Brandon. Had he lived, maybe this wouldn't be so tasteless and crass.

I'm on the fence, yes the Crow was awesome way ahead of its time. A new one with Jason Mamoa? Those are big shoes to fill. Done correctly it might turn out to be really good. However if they don't epic fail, that's a tough act to follow.

I'm a 90's kid. I loved this movie as an impressionable child. Even painted my face after watching it. But a remake isn't terrible. It makes it relevant again and we can all re-enjoy it. Think of it as a tribute to our childhood

I hate directors that put jason mamoa in every movie thinking he fits a certain character.

One of a handful of Brandon’s acting opportunities in a short life. The most respectful choice is to leave it untouched. The Lee Family has had such unfortunate tragedy with Father and Son they deserve their films be left as is!

After the great Brandon Lee nobody can fill the Crow’s shoes.

I'm a Crow fan that is truly a fanatic and I'm 80 years old. The 1994 version stands today. It does not need a reboot. Jason would I think, have been good in the part. If you've read the comics or the graphic novel, then you know James O'Barr drew a very bulky Crow. Brandon was not nearly the height nor size of Jason, but he fit the part perfectly. He was always "fit" and muscular. Jason gets muscle definition when he needs it. Otherwise, he's just a good guy who lives life and enjoys it. But, Jason walked away with the director because they weren't staying true to the original story as written, and for that I thank both of them. If you're going to do a reboot, then do the original as written, make it the way JO wrote it. Otherwise, you're just remaking what has already been done and it can't be beat. Bill Skaarsgard is a wonderful actor, but he shouldn't be in this part the way they've got him made up, or the way he's playing it. Not needed. I will watch the 1994 version any day. I will not pay to see a reboot.

I love this movie, there have been several additional movies, but they fall way short of the mark, I think Jason would be a great choice, if they don't screw it up.

I can't agree. In my opinion there are some films that should never ever be redone or changed and The Crow is one of those films. It sounds corny to say Brandon Lee literally gave his life for that movie, which he did.... And trying to reboot it or redo it, regardless of who the hell you put in it, is like saying "Brandon Lee didn't amount to a pile of shit, did he?" I feel it is an insult Brandon Lees' life and talent. I love Jason Momoa, but no.... Even if you could get Keanu Reeves in the title role, it would still be a no from me.

I like it but I doubt any superhero reboot would catch on with viewers this century because there are too many bad ones! Reboots, like sequels, are usually a cash grab by greedy, old-fashioned, and scared studio executives and accountants, not creative decisions by fan screenwriters or fan directors.

Just leave the movie alone. It’s one of a kind. Everything that has ever taken place. One of the best movies. Also what happened to Brandon. The quotes in the movie and him as an actor. You can never replace the best!! As he said it best it can’t rain all the time. You can’t replace Sarah, Shelly or Eric. You can try but will never be the same. He’s impacted so many lives. A 19 year old who almost lost his life twice. A miracle to be here today normal boy. Same thing like Sarah love’s skateboarding and has a heart of gold. He is the same and wonders why things happen. Drs in a trauma unit tell you. We have never seen a teenager get in two accidents and survive and be normal. There is a purpose for him being here. It touches a young teenager and my daughter who is 5 and loves what the Crow represents. The connection between the living and the dead the soul. It does not rest if something so bad happens. I truly believe it because I’ve seen it. People leave it be it’s a classic and there’s no coming back from that❤.

As wonderful as Jason is, rumours actually have Bill Skarsgard having agreed to the lead role - he played Pennywise the clown in the newer It movies, I loved the original, Brandon had such potential and it was a tragic love story.

Again I don't know who decide the casting, because JM would have been a much better choice to do it than the one they actually did pick. And then they could have turned the Crow into a much bigger action adventure type flick.

Not a remake, but a continuation with a different character. The Crow was different people brought back by the crow to avenge the horrors done to him and his loved ones. So any actor can play the next crow, but it needs to be a really really good story and good actor.

Ppl don’t realize The Crow has already been filmed and it’s staring Bill Skarsgard ( Pennywise) as Eric Draven. It’ll be released by lions gate in 2024. IMO it shouldn’t have been touched but I’ve personally been waiting for this since it was announced in April of 2022. The film was stuck in development since 2008’ and has a budget of 50mil$.

Well, the reason why there hasn't been another reboot is because the last few reboots did not do so well in ratings that they'd be sceptical to make another one.
