I was listening to my KZread song list the other day and the Eric Draven guitar solo that Brandon Lee played on the rooftop of the Crow movie started up. I was listening to it and thought to myself, did anyone ever actually finish this guitar solo? I researched and couldn't find anyone had finished it or extended it in any form whatsoever. I decided I would try my hand at it and see what would happen. I downloaded some sheet music for the song that I could find, loaded up FL Studio and went to work creating a techno style piece while still having electric guitars. After about 3 1/2 days I finished the music to the point that I was happy but then I wanted an animated screen to go with the music. I went to Midjourney created the image you see in the video and then took it over to Pika Labs to have the rain animated. I released this song 4 months ago but at the time I wasn't completely happy with it and wanted to revisit at a later time. When I found out that Paramount Pictures is releasing The Crow 1994 version to theathers on May 7 but remastered in 4K I decided I needed to get this remixed soon so I wouldn't miss the rush of people that are submitting their videos as well. Part of the reason I'm releasing this remixed version on March 7, 2024 is that it is exactly 2 months before the 1994 version hits theaters and 3 months before the new 2024 The Crow movie comes to theaters. The other reason I'm releasing at this time and not in April is that April 7 lands on a Sunday and that is time I spend with my family. I know, I know everyone says that I can delay the release of the video and let KZread take care of it but I like to be hands on with my music.
Now for the ideas that came about remixing this version of the song. In my mind Eric Draven is a lead guitarist, lead vocalist and composer for his band the Hanging Joke. The guitar solo we see on the 1994 movie The Crow with Brandon Lee acting for Eric Draven's part that this song was orginally meant to be introduced to his band mates in the next jam session before they released it to the public but he died before having his band mates listen to it. I believe this song with the band of five people would have had something similar to what I put together. I have five guitars, bass guitar, trumpet and three percussion instruments to recreate this piece. Many who have listened to the previous version will hear a lot of similarities to this version and the reason is that this version is what I orginally wanted to release at the time but didn't have the skill set yet to make this kind of music. One other thing to take note of is that when I was working on the ideas for this song I put myself in the place of fans at the concert shouting I want to hear this song but then I’m reminded that we don’t know the title of this song. So I did some research and found out the title of this song is called Inferno which makes sense based on Eric Draven’s style of playing and how he composed music.
