    I feel like Brandon's Crow character laid the foundation for Keanu's Neo and even Heath's Joker. I was a kid when Brandon passed, I was in HS when The Matrix was released, was a young adult and worked in an office when The Dark Knight came out, after all these years, I still believe that Brandon Lee (if he had lived) may have played those roles. Was a fan and always will be.

    This movie helped shape a huge part of me growing up, came out right as I was processing some trauma of my own and just resonated so hard. I hate that he's gone. He died wearing Eric Draven's clothes, which is why I think that character should be left to rest with him. There was no reason for them to use Eric again in this money grabbing 'Reboot'.. there's a wealth of other source material out there, it could have been any one of the other 'Crows'.. that they chose Eric again feels like desecrating a grave. You wont be forgotten, Brandon.

Brandon seemed so ready for whatever life would give him next, no one knew what was coming, it's so sad & ironic to hear him joking about wearing a bullet proof vest for that day's work, why on earth didn't they make him wear it for the scene that killed him? I guess everyone involved had done so many scenes involving people getting shot by that point that they had started to take safety for granted. Anyway, thanks for sharing this video, nice to get a glimpse of the real Brandon Lee just being himself for a few minutes.

    I'm just speculating here, but I think the smoking was in part Brandon rebelling against people expecting him to be like his Dad. Bruce Lee's image (true or not) was of a very, very fit person who would never do anything like smoking or drinking that might harm him physically, Brandon got tired of people wanting him to be the "second coming of Bruce Lee".

    Unfortunate that this movie got a "reboot". Should have just left it alone. My friend's grandmother (who has since passed) was an extra on set when Brandon was shot. She said it was "absolute chaos" when it happened, and a lot of people there had no idea what even took place till later. Another issue is we'll really never get to see a lot of what was cut from the original film. A friend of mine who owned a comic shop was sent a promo tape that had a LOT of footage on it that was basically audio covered with the soundtrack. The arm cutting scene, Michael Berryman as skull cowboy, more flashbacks etc. All gone.

    I think they actually had similar characteristics. They were both brutally honest, a bit sarcastic, very intelligent, didn’t like superficiality. I think they were somehow similar if you watch closely what they said during their interviews. That’s my impression.

    NAR day - no acting required. I found that comment kind of funny until I remembered that he got shot on set and freaking died. 😢 No acting required for his death scene too, apparently. Poor Brandon Lee, it's so sad to hear him talk about future movies knowing what happens after this interview takes place. To be honest, he sounded kind of freaked out about the twenty bullets scene; he kept mentioning it up to the interviewer and seemed kind of shaken about it. Maybe he had a bad feeling that something would go wrong?

  • @BRUCEJJ66

    @BRUCEJJ66

    I don't actually think he was shaken by it, he was so used to enduring hardship & discomfort on this film by then (the freezing rain, the physicality of the role, etc.) that I'd think he & everyone else involved in the movie were just pushing to get the movie finished. As I recall they only had a week or so of filming to go before the movie would be finished, & Brandon was looking forward to his wedding shortly after that. So tragic ...

    He was always enduring as an action star and a half blood. Looking at the roles they cast him in and his attitude towards martial arts and acting, he enduring quite a lot more than what we see on the surface level here. Just my opinion after finding trying to watch all the movies he was in and reading about him. I agree that he almost seemed to sense it and says very haunting things. I wish something could have saved him and we could have seen him progress as an actor and finally get more roles outside of purely martial arts and actions films. He was just in the process of achieving his dream when it was ended. I hate that yet love this movie at the same time.
