The CRK Large Sebenza 21 Carbon Fiber/Tanto Pocketknife: A Quick Shabazz Review

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

The Large Sebenza 21 is a shining gem, and as you might expect, the Carbon Fiber/Tanto version is too. It's mostly just a question of what you're looking for in a pocketknife.

I do like your point (no pun intended) about the tanto for opening boxes. It's not my preferred blade shape but again, you made a great point. Thank you for yet another fabulously colorful and informative review. I'm currently struggling with saving for a Sebenza.

That tanto would bug the crap out of me .like every time I opened it I would think for a second that my blade had the tip broke off! It is a well done tanto though.

How is the smoothness with the CF scale? I assume it's similar due to the pivot bushing.

Nice review Nick. I am working on a Tanto Blade design and looking for inspiration, finding the Sebenza Tanto appealing the most as traditional japanese tanto's I feel most people will not fully grasp in a folder. They appear more like a kwaiken than a tanto to the normal eye.

Secondary market on any CRK CF knives seems to be a bunch slower and the resale value alot less than standard CRK knives. Don't know what that says but yeah. Would have preferred the tanto blade to remain exclusive to the Umnumzaan. On an Umnum it looks awesome but on a Sebenza it looks wonky and out of balance with the rounded lines of the handle. If they want to do something cool - bring the old pivot back to the Umnumzaan. That would make people more happy than a Tanto Sebenza I bet.

No reason to buy the carbon fiber model. Especially when its more than the all ti version. If you want carbon fiber just get a custom scale made. That way you still get two ti slabs and wont get jipped.

Bigcal44 KnifeArt.com has the exclusive on CF Sebenzas,. You can get them right now in the drop point and tanto blades, but they are out of stock on the Insingo blades in CF. There’s every reason to spend a little bit more on the CF; it’s nice as hell, and lighter.

People know the Delica4 is superior overall, the tolerances, lockup, jimping, texture, blade angle, ergos, weight, looks, all better, they're looking for competition and Spyderco knows there isn't much of it. I think it's the budget-friendly aspect that's making them request the Cutjack.
