At speed, one would need to counter-steer the actual bike and turn the handle bar in the opposite direction to the turn in order to lean and then get upright. I would love to see that that happen on sims.

thats a sick setup instead of a wheel its an actual handle bar of a bike lol sick bro

It's a little bit unrealistic because in real life riding a bike, when you're going at an average speed, in order to swerve right you're gonna have to tilt your handle to the left. It's hard to explain but if you're used to riding a bike, you;ll get it.

Yeah riding a motorbike is about body position. The handle isn’t really that prominent when you make corners at high speed.

It would trip me out, I think a controller is better. On a bike you rarely turn the handlebars unless its a 4wheeler.

Tourist trophy got it right. Poliphony digital knows that body positioning is everything. They had an entire settings menu for body postioning while cornering. I'm sad Tourist trophy 2 never came to be.

it would be cool of games (especially racing games) that have motorcycles will incorporate the science of counter-steering on a motorcycle. if you ride a motorcycle and you have no idea what that is, i swear you have to do some research because that can really save your life in panic situations. everyone who rides a motorcycle does this subconsciously but the problem with not knowing how to do it consciously is for panic situations where your consciousness takes over

You can rotate the steering bar like that, only if you maneuvering at very, very low speed or full stop. Anything beyond that, you just lean and let the gravity do the rest. Motorcycles are perfectly balanced machines. If you guys plan to ride a real bike in your life avoid such setups, they put a very wrong felling which can lead to a deadly events.

Exactly i saw this and thought wtf, no rider is ever going to use that and it's really negatively installing the wrong muscle memory into people who might ride in the future and cause serious damage. On a bike you counter steer to get turn in and only fractionally

gravity does not "do the rest"... your leaning into a turn actually imposes forces on the handlebars that induces counter-steering. Try steering quickly with just body position at speed with your hands off the handlebars... you'll run off the track/road.
