The Creator by Piano Marine Mike

As seen originally on TikTok, here is a video of me playing the original song I wrote in 1966 as a sophomore in high school. My wife titled it "The Creator."

This is why music is the most beautiful language in the world. Not a single word in this song and I fully understand it. The hurt I feel coming from it but the raw passion put into this makes it like no other piece of music I've heard. She must have been amazing... thank you for this beautiful song.

You don’t understand how much this has touched me, a random person you’ll never get to know or even likely see in public. When I hear The Creator, the most beautiful things I’ve experienced in my life, the most beautiful people I’ve know, flash before my eyes. My nana and papa who never stopped taking care of me when my parents never started. My ex, who is a friend of many years, who loved me so deeply, who I still adore, smiling at me in the car just because he’s happy I exist. My childhood kitty who passed away from cancer, Willy, letting me hold him in my arms and chasing me down the hall way, running last minute into a paper grocery bag in the floor to “hide”. The foster child I tutored when I was in high school, Gabe, who was so patient with me and gave me his trust in a time where he felt no certainty. A little old lady that I didn’t know coming through my check out line at an old job, giving me a card during Christmas time one year, and all it said inside with shaky handwriting was, “I love you. -Beverly.” The students I had the first two years I taught that I loved so deeply laughing at a dumb joke I made during class, accidentally breaking Christmas ornaments as they all try to decorate the Christmas tree I had for them all at once, and them telling me one day “Miss B, we really do love you.” My older sister who never stopped reaching out after years of me neglecting our relationship, tears in her eyes because I moved across the country to live with her after being separated for 15 years. My bus driver who always honked for me, listened to me, and waited for me when she could. Sneaking red apples to a 20 year old horse my parents gave away shortly after buying for me that I knew I would never be taught how to ride like they promised. Seeing a kitty cat who had been dumped at the grocery store a few weeks prior eating out of a can of cat food left for him in the parking lot. Please, let the only thing that ever stops you from writing be death because you have great purpose, whether you ever get to see it fulfilled in this life time or not. Thank you for reminding me that life, even in its bitter moments, is beautiful. I apologize that this is so long, but thank you, Mike.

This song has made me cry so many times already I’m 17 still in high school and I cry to this song because it reminds me of a loss of innocence. It reminds me that everything’s going to be gone laughing with my friends, crying because I scraped my knee, waking up with my family there, waking up on Christmas Day with a tree full of gifts under it, late night drives with my friends, not having to worry about a single thing, just being happy because you want to be happy. It’ll all be gone and it’s passing by all so fast. This song just makes me feel like everything’s going to be okay life loves on and you just have to accept it because you have a full future ahead of you. Thank you Mike for bringing me to a whole new light and way of thinking about my future I love the song! You brought me out of a long depression of dreading what’s to come your song has brought me happiness

When I heard this on Spotify I knew instantly it was an upright. That specific tone will always take me back to my childhood. Suddenly I was 6 years old listening to my mom play the upright in the living room. She loved the piano. She was the piano teacher in our small town like her mother and grandmother before her. Thank you for sending me back home. Even if just for a little while.

It speaks so many words with such short time and truly makes me feel like I’m weightless and allows me to live in my memories, not with sadness, but with a sense of fulfillment. This will go down as one of my favorite pieces of all time. Thank you Mike for this beautiful song and I am deeply sorry for your loss. May her memory live on in this wonderful song not simply as a memory, but as a manifestation of the most beautiful things in life. May she rest in peace❤.

This reminds me of when i was 5 years old and i was laying on the grass and the world hasn’t got to me yet. It was sunny and my family was happy and i still had so much love to give, still i am but i don’t want to anymore. I was not scared to show that i was sad or that i dislike something and i didn’t know what lies were My biggest fear was the spider in the corner of my room and my biggest regret was not sleeping with all my stuffed animals. My dad and mom were the king and queen and me and my siblings were the princess and prince I was not scared to eat and my favorite dish was my dads inventions I still loved my siblings to death and i would play with them every second, now i don’t know wether they live or not now i don’t want to give my love to anyone anymore, now my mom is dead, now my dad is sad and old, and my sibling are far away from home, i am scared to eat and to show any emotions, i am scared of death and my biggest regret of being the disappoint and mistake in my family what i was and what i am what happened??????
