_Rocko's Modern Life_ has tons of innuendo jokes that got past the radars, but "Leaf Frog" really gives off the biggest "AYO" moments in Nickelodeon history and the episode isn't even trying to hide it.

Interesting fact about the PPG episode, originally the gnome was going to be voiced by Jack Black but wasn’t brought in supposedly due to the cost of bringing him in given that he’s a huge star. Instead, Jess Harnell took over the voice and surprisingly he does a very convincing voice sounding like Jack Black.

Yeah and also back then, the NAACP had a problem with those cartoons as well and wrote to Warner Bros about it. I also do agree with the idea of restoring those cartoons (they probably already have) and putting them on Max but under a restricted rating, separate from the rest of the library or something along with optional commentary from animation historians. Anyway, another banger of a video on the channel man. Well done.

If they ever put the Censored Eleven on Max, they should be age-restricted like what Disney did with some of their old movies. I don't think kids should watch these or they might grasp some...really harmful ideas, and they would only really have value to animation buffs. Alternatively, they could be preserved for educational purposes, like being shown in a history class to teach about what racism and propaganda was like back in the day.

While even I am amazed that they almost got "Insane in the Membrane" to air, they basically showed Baxter getting literally stripped of his humanity multiple times. The rotting flesh was a little over the top, but overall we missed one of the most powerful episodes of the 2k3 series. Proof that Stockman was the show's REAL arc villain, not Shredder. There was also "Nightmares Recycled" where the Garbage Man was revealed to be the conjoined twin of Hun, tossed aside similar to The Penguin in Batman Returns. That one made it barely to animatic, maybe even some lines recorded before the new censor told them to throw it out completely. And the thing is, 4kids was going to show what was finished of the episode on their website, but the sale of Mirage Studios to Viacom happened JUST before they were able to. Personally, I think those two episodes were the reason Fast Forward was far more juvenile and lighter than the rest of the series. Well, until the unproduced second season, but that's another story.

@@isaiahedmonson5832 Fast Forward really showed how much pull Playmates had over the franchise. So much so that it made 4Kids completely skip an ENTIRE completed season just to rush new TMNT variants to market. We didn't get the fifth season that concluded the story until after the FF toys didn't sell. The show even referenced events and characters in a couple episodes that didn't even air yet as a result. Worst part, the FF toys didn't sell any better, so they abandoned a far better second season. A Triceriton that took THe Shredder mantle would have been an upcoming villain, as well as Space Usagi making an appearance. That's why Back to the Sewers felt rushed.

It's so important not to erase history no matter what the format is because then we also don't learn from it. The banned cartoons can serve as history lessons and make us realize how far we've come in society. Obviously someone was a fan of Cypress Hill behind that TMNT episode and I loved the whole idea of that one. I would love to see that banned episode of the Power Puff Girls! I mean it had a good message with how following any cult is probably a bad idea. I love how its about valuing individuality that proved how the creators back then made cartoons that transcended on a deeper level.

Gonna blow your mind: The characters and name of location in SpongeBob itself are one big adult joke.. They live in BIKINI BOTTOM... Spongebob - a tampoon which soaks up blood Mr. Crabs - crabs is pubic lice Patrick Starfish - starfish is a euphemism for a butthole Squidward - squids have been symbolism for an open vagina

15:56 crazy thing, for the Insane in the Membrane episode, a lot of people say that episodes disturbing because of Baxter's body falling apart to where it looks like something you see in a horror movie, but to me, the most disturbing part of that episode was seeing Baxter kidnapping April by drugging her with a tranquilizer dart

The character from the Golden Age of Cartoons I'm most miffed being practically forgotten about is Ms. 2 Shoes from Tom and Jerry. Warts and All she is insanely important to the cat and mouse duo's history since she's as old as they are as she made her debut at the same time they did. Plus she's practically the only human character I really ever gave a toss about as she was the only one who had an actual personality and could actually go toe to toe "Or rather claw to claw" with Tom and Jerry.

Mammy Two-Shoes is one of the funniest cartoon characters of all time because she's just a hilariously sassy woman who's had enough of that cat and mouse's mess. I've always said that the quality of a Tom & Jerry cartoon is inversely proportional to the amount of spoken dialogue in it. The more any character speaks, the worse a cartoon it is... UNLESS MAMMY IS IN IT. Also, as a kid and to this day, I operated under the assumption that she was the owner of the house. Woman's doin' alright for herself. Who's got a problem with that?

Some examples from Japan: - Osomatsu-san (A.K.A., Mr. Osomatsu) - Several episodes that featured pop culture parodies were pulled from streaming and replaced with new episodes for copyright violations. Japan has no fair-use exemptions like America does. This kind of think is frequently just overlooked by copyright holders, but not in this case. - As a result of the above, the Kinnikuman manga was edited to remove copyrighted characters, including Ultraman and Godzilla. Kinnikuman was originally Ultraman's bastard son. - The Kinnikuman comics had a story called "Roots Island" involving Africans (and probably named after the Roots TV miniseries). This was banned for many years, but was recently reprinted with altered art, altering how the African characters are drawn and removing bones from their noses. - There's a banned manga & anime series called "Jungle Kurobe", which is basically Doraemon but with an African instead of a robot cat from the future. - The Lensman animated movie and TV series is no longer available due to the copyright holders (the heirs of author E. E. "Doc" Smith) of the source material disliking them. (DC's Green Lantern Corps. was...um..."inspired" by the Lensman novels.)

Hey man please do an episode on Reboot produced by a canadian company, (I'm canadian), one of the earliest fully CGI cartoons. animation was a bit clunky in the early seasons, but was cutting edge for it's time, being produced in 94. it was such an epic, chalk full of Easter eggs and nods to cult classic films. I grew up with it when it aired on cartoon networks toonami block in 2000.

I saw an episode of looney tunes on a cartoon vhs a while back where a black dude was hunting Bugs and luckily I had a dad who was born in 1937 who wasnt racist but knew to expose me to this to explain how times were different at one time. Despite being offensive there's still some entertainment to be had. Mostly.

What if we take a minute to remember that Armstrong was a cancer survivor. He didnt even win races most of the time - so if he was using steroids to keep riding, juxtapose that against the cancer patient rotting away in a hospital bed. I don't see the problem. If he was actually winning... Nah EVEN if he's still winning! If a one armed man tests positive for HGH in the NBA we, as a nation, would collectively say "Oh, that makes sense." Though honestly if we'd allow stem cell research we could probably just give him back the arm........

As you said, Coal Black was done with good intentions. And it was based on the kind of acts certain entertainers would put on in that day. Also, every human in those cartoons was basically depicted awfully and stereotypically. You think Yosemite Sam was a positive depiction of white people? Elmer Fudd? The Crusher? Rocky and Mugsy? All of these characters were done as over the top stereotypes. It goes to show that's how they did humans on those cartoons.
