What is the elevation gain of the Appalachian Trail?
How many steps is the Appalachian Trail?
How many hours of sleep did I get per night? How many calories did I burn? How many nights did I sleep in my tent?
And of course.. what you all want to know:
How many times did I get a Dunkin Donuts iced coffee?!
I had so much fun gathering all this information about my 2023 AT hike and am excited to share!

Taylor (referring to 4 state challenge): "I didn't do anything that crazy this year." Also Taylor: I took a zero to run a marathon.
14 Dunkin’ Donuts that’s nothing for 2500 miles in my opinion! But the 1 hotel coffee what where you thinking lol anyone that can do the Appalachian trail is a winner in my opinion. Have a safe new year!
LMNT has saved me! Post menopausal muscle cramps kept me off the trail. Absolutely crippling. I’m not sponsored lol just a huge fan. It has been a blessing!

oh no! I am so happy it was able to help!
Happy New & Blessings for your business in 2024. Thank you for sharing this years AT Thru Hike. Your flog set the measure for so many other thru hike floggers. You inspire me & so many others to get out and start hiking. I have goal to hike all of the AT in Va in 2024. Keep posting videos please, they are so enjoyable & interesting. ❤😊
"How many times did I run into fresh ground" is by far the best stat 😂
That was a lot of information. Thank you for taking all that time to do it. Enjoyed it. Really interesting.
Thank you, Taylor for all your videos. I've followed both your hikes and can't wait to see what you do in the future. I hope to be out on the trail within 50 days. Currently I'm battling RSV and pneumonia. I will not be deterred!
Thank you for sharing a very interesting adventure on this years hike. Have a wonderful New Year and continued success with your business.
This was such a fun relatable video! To take away joy from just getting out there and being active in the winter is something to celebrate in itself 👏🏼
Happy New Year Taylor and Chet 🎆🙏🏻 God Bless you and your families, appreciate you
Happy New Year. Great information and video. Stay Safe and HIKE ON!!!
Good sharing, great stuff you share, have a wonderful year 🍻❤️💯
Awesome stats video. Finally picked up my LMNT order with free sample pack. Thank you for the code! Can’t wait to take these electrolyte mixes with me for my work outs, hikes, ski days, beach days, etc. Also tell Chet, go birds 🦅
Thanks for doing this video. I wish you the best 2024 ever. John from MI
Thank you I hope to be well enough to do the AT this year. I have had 3 Back surgery's and have been having Feet Surgery since last Halloween. I just hope it comes to an end REAL SOON ! TAKE CARE and BE WELL
Your content is relaxing and calming. ❤
Awesome video. Thank you
Thank you, Taylor. I only hiked half of the Trail this year because I tore the meniscus in my left knee after a slip and fall in the mud. I skipped the middle section and started north again in Massachusetts, getting hurt coming down Mt. Cube. Not knowing how badly I had damaged my knee (I was limping badly, but it didn't hurt that much), I struggled over Moosilauke and the Kinsman Mountains before the instability (not the pain) made me realize that, if it gave out on me in the Whites and the Maine Mountains, I could get badly hurt or worse. I knew this because I had section hiked the entire AT over 40 years, finishing in 2022. It was interesting to hear your statistics, because I basically hiked "by the seat of my pants" only marking the places where I slept every night in my AWOL guide (though I did use my Far Out guide for navigation, finding water sources, planning resupply, finding lodging, etc. every day). I had trouble with plantar fasciitis since Damascus, at least, and took a fall just south of Atkins, Va, which badly bruised my right thigh. I still have some trouble with range of motion in my left knee, and the right knee is beginning to hurt even more than the left one. I might be looking at at least replacing one knee, and, possibly both. I would still like to complete a thruhike, but that will be a few years down the road, and I will be at least 73 years old. I will do a southbound hike if I manage to get healthy enough to attempt it again. Thanks for sharing your story. Tinker, halfway, '23.
You are/have been such a huge inspiration 🙌 We are heading out March '24. Of course, it's completely intimidating listening to your beast mode stats. I would be interested in how you kept healthy. Water filter, infections, illnesses?? Any hygiene advice to stay safe? Thanks!!
That was a ton of fun. I am sure that was a lot of work but it was a very informative video that’s just for fun.
Kudos to mom!
Loving my nahamsha hoodie for Christmas!
Happy New Year Taylor!
Happy New Year and Happy Trails!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Ha ha Love the Dunkin’ stats true new Englander! 😂 love it!
Happy New Year Taylor! ❤🕉🎆👍
great video, love the stats
Happy new year
Hi Taylor, it would be awesome if sometime you would do a video tutorial of the Coros Apex Pro 2 watch! I know you did a review video already. Thanks, really enjoy your videos!
would you ever consider going back for round 3? i hiked in 17'and i never thought i would do it again, but here i am pondering the idea.
I looked back at my steps for 2019 where I ran 1700 miles. My total steps were only 4.1 million! Nearly 5 million is incredible considering that wasn't even your whole year. What was your total steps for '23?
First!!! Happy new year, everyone!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉Actually 2nd!!!!😂
So much detail! Good job; thanks for all of the enjoyable hours this past year, and I look forward to many more. Best to you and your family for the new year.
Taylor this was so interesting!!! I really enjoyed it. Thanks for making it.!!!❤
Happy New Year! And thank you for posting this entertaining and informative video. But most of all I wanted to thank you for inspiring me to return to backpacking after a 50-year hiatus! I have enjoyed some of the best hikes of my life this past year and start 2024 in the best shape I've been in for quite a while (at age 72!). If ever you decide to hike the Foothills Trail (76 miles in SC and NC), please let my wife and I provide pre- and post-hike lodging, shuttle service, trail magic, and resupply as a thank you for your inspiration.
Thanks for the stats! I am hiking in 2024!

@@TaylortheNahamshaHiker that's awesome I have watched both of your AT hikes!
Very enjoyable video, and thank you for making it! We wish you all the best for 2024 and look forward to each of your videos. God bless!
What a wonderful video! So much fun!! Wishing you and your family a very blessed New Year full of great health and happiness!!💗🎉🎈🎊
Thank you again Taylor for a great video. It's so inspiring to hear about your tru-hikes and your hikes, especially as a fellow solo female hiker! One tinnyyyy comment: As a Canadian (and I' sure everyone from outside the US would agree), I would LOVE if you would put kilometers and celsius when talking about your stats. It would give me a better portrait of the situation! Merci!
Heyo, what tent did you use ? It seems like a winner . I’m looking for a freestanding one.. thanks 😊 enjoyed your big positive energy:)

My freestanding tent is the nemo dragonfly 1 person :)
Great video, interesting stuff. Thank you for having made some great content in 2023, my first year of watching your channel. You always do an excellent job of shooting and editing the videos. You did a great job on the trail itself, too. But more importantly, it's obvious to me that you're a fine human, worth watching. Happy New Year!
Happy statistics and continued smart hiking. A great hiking channel you have. Congratulations and Happy and successful 2024.
It’s amazing the random stats you can get from a watch! I have a Garmin and get very similar type of stats from my activities. When did you start and end your session/activity? As soon as you set foot on the trail in the morning to when you left the trail or until you were ready to go to sleep? Just curious…Love the videos!

I started it as soon as I started hiking and would end it when I found a place to camp. I loved having the watch! The stats were so fun to look at

@@TaylortheNahamshaHiker Absolutely! I’m a sucker for random stats and sometimes getting lost down the “rabbit hole” for hours looking at those things!!!!
Hi! Unicoi Zoom here '12-'13 LASH (379 days) along with my husband Napster '12-'13 flip-flop AT thru hiker (365 days). I wanted to share some of my stats because our style of hiking was so different from yours. Temp high, about 102 in Virginia ~July and temp low -10 in New Jersey ~February. My average miles per day was about 5ish partly because I'm a slow poke, and partly because I took so many zeros. Idk what my average was without zeros, but now I'm curious. My guess is somewhere around 11. Happy New Year!! The year we thru hiked we were near NYC at New Year's and we got to go to Madison Square Gardens for the 12/30/12 Phish show. It was absolutely wild to get to do that in the middle of a hike. Then we took the train back to the AT stop and the conductor looked at us like, "are you sure?!?" When we asked to get off at the AT in the snow and cold. Good times.
Fascinating stats! Thank you for sharing, Taylor! Your total mileage was a definitely lot of marathons😅
Happy New Year Taylor! This was a very interesting video. . . I'm planning to do the AT in 2025!
Cute update. Thanks. I would have guessed way more Dunks! 😊
I did 5,800,000 steps this year .... not bad
Happy New Year to you and your family 🥳🥳🥳👍👍👍.
Great vlog Taylor! You should do some vlogs about your running and marathons that you do!
Add about 1600 ish calories per day from just living. Depends of course on body weight, metabolism etc..
Happy New Year to you too.
Happy New Year, Taylor, and thanks for all your inspirational and entertaining videos. I imagine someone else has commented on this as well, but the night when you mentioned you only got 2 1/2 hour sleep, is, I think, attributable to you sharing a bunk room with someone who snored heavily. Not great!
my resting heart rate asleep is maybe 76. When I'm hiking, it's easily 140. my wife's resting rate is about 50 and her exercise heart rate is about 100. what's yours?
happy new year taylor chet and mom
Some of these stats are Crazy! I'm planning on hiking the AT in 2024 and I do have a question about how you get home from Katahdin? Like is there a shuttle to a nearby airport, what is a nearby airport? Any information about that would be a massive help!
How often do you drink a pack of LMNT throughout a hiking day?

I know you hiked some with Badbat , I followed her also and her last post was so sad. Have you been in touch with her?

No, I haven't chatted with her since the AT
Wondering if I have taken 5 million steps in my whole life…🤔
I would like you to do a video of how much money you make on your KZread videos.
Personally, I think Dunkin’ Donuts and whoever makes your watch should sponsor some of your videos! Those are clearly products you believe in, heh. 😂
I appreciate the actual hiking stats. I love your trail videos. I am honestly a little shocked at the amount of plastic waste from Dunkin and everything else, but it is hard to be on the move and not use a lot of packaging. let's all try to get these companies to use more recyclable or compostable materials!
Nice video.

Take your sleep records, calories burnt and heart rate data from your watch with a pinch of salt. Sports watches are not very accurate, especially calories burnt. Heart rate is accurate if you wearing the strap, which I don't think you did?
Sbut up
Happy new year
