It's sometimes the problem of long publication histories and everyone having their own take on a character. Hard to keep consistent if someone will replace you every year.

Which is one of the reasons why I’m happy for most of the Krakoa era: it just felt new and stripped of a lot of the BS. Heck, the Victor Lavelle Sabretooth stuff has been decent. Mostly because of characters like Cypher and Nekra.
