Great video and a lovely course and just an hour from my door. Surely Seb (Mr Takomo) should surely give away a set of irons to the viewers replicating the ones he used for getting an ace on camera 😉 Hope to see you at Montrose soon!

Love The Dukes. So much so, that I played it twice ( over 2 days ) when we visited from Oz in 2019. The view from the balcony looking back to St Andrews is fabulous. Staff were so friendly. We are planning a return next year and hopefully, will get to play it again. Keep them coming James.

Also. But I also enjoy playing along with the young guys, from my tee of course. I call them my golf grandsons & even play occasionally with our Club Champion who told me to use his reserve parking spot (because I'm old, handicapped & coached him in basketball when he was a young boy).

What you should actually do, if you could be bothered, is to keep a log of "shots used" for each of you. It would be boring as f*** to compile, but you could get Bobby to do it 🙂 You could keep it secret (from yourselves too) but at the end of the series you could do a reveal and see who was the MVP for drives, approaches, putts and total. Winner gets a pint Also maybe count club chucks and other acts of petulance which also carries a one pint forfeit

I've been playing golf for a while now and I'm now a 20 handicapper. The best way to get to get hole in 1 is make sure you hit the ball as high as possible with the correct club. Also make sure it goes in the right direction. This way you will be increasing the chances of it going in the hole.

@@timdench2583 if you're going to deliberately thin it, aim 90 degrees to the left with the club angled 45 degrees to the right and only hit it with 50 % power. That way it will end up going in the correct direction. However if the wind is blowing in either direction your ball will end up going all over the place.

When taking aim on the tee box I always aim about 5mm to the side of the hole so every time I get a hole in one, the ball quite often catches the lip of the hole and does a very nice lap of honour before it drops. Give it a go.

  • @haggaman64

Just wondering why you would worry about mud on the ball when you're marking and replacing a clean ball before hitting the shot? Also, finally you've figured out playing from tee, with the find a fairway first then bombs away, so when first putt ends in gimme STOP LEAVING 2ND ONE SHORT!!! That is so painful. Anyway, enjoy the series and the banter. Do miss the daisy dukes.

Sorry but I have to call out Chris here. At kzread.info/dash/bejne/k4Jhj6qsitrAdM4.html and then at about kzread.info/dash/bejne/k4Jhj6qsitrAdM4.html he accuses you of a club chuck James. And not for the first time - he famously (?) did the same a couple of videos ago. Clearly those were club "drops" not chucks. Technically probably a one handed finish, but with your combination of sausage fingers and astronomical swing speed, you can't keep hold of the club with one hand. Definitely not a club chuck, which begs the question as to why Chris is so insistent? I've got a theory on this. He's from Barnsley isn't he? And the penalty for a club chuck is that you lose your free "stand alone birdie" pints. Clearly he's trying to wriggle out of buying a pint. Understandable given that tight fistedness is bound to be in his DNA. But I think it's only fair to call him out on it.
