The cranberry growers of Southeastern Massachusetts follow a long tradition of farming a native crop: cranberries. Over the years growers have tended the perennial vines for generations. The vines are nurtured, protected against early frosts and tended through the seasons. This takes a real love of nature and a dedication to farming. The Ocean Spray family of cranberry bog farmers have followed the cycles of the seasons and have innovated to creatively solve problems, as using a fish transfer hose to gently pump the cranberries into the harvesters for grading and cleaning. Ocean Spray is a model for American corporations. They have developed new products and new markets while protecting the family cranberry bog owners and farmers. This short film is a wonderful tribute to the Ocean Spray cranberry growers.

The importance of maintaining family farms is very overlooked by our society. Most corporations want to destroy independent farms. It's good to know Ocean Spray is doing it's part to protect "small" farms.

This was beautiful and informative to watch @oceanspray. Curious, what happens to all the water once you're done the harvest and have you as a company given any thought as to how climate change will effect the way you harvest in the future? Genuinely curious and in admiration of what it takes to get cranberries to customers, many thanks to all the farmers that work tirelessly to provide us with good food!

Cranberries are my favorite fruit and my whole life I've thought they grew in bush.

@@leolego2 They grow on bushes, but the usually flood the farm plots (called cranberry bogs) and sort of slosh the water around so that the berries come off the bushes and float to the surface. 2:14

I actually thought they grew under water!

Who else had to watch this for school? I did

Crandberries are soaked in water when harvested.
