In the horse country of Marion County, Florida you will find the Country Club at Silver Springs Shores. The course is a Desmond Murihead golf course design that opened in 1969 as part of a larger planned community that included a visitor center and a hotel. The aspirations for the business venture did not go as planned, but the bones of a very good golf course remain.
