They don't like to say their abuse in an email or messaging or texts. They like phone calls or shutting the door and talking to you alone. So you have no evidence of what they said to you.

You always get what you incentivize. The modern world is a jewish creation, according to jewish author Yuri Slezkine, in “The Jewish Century”. The behavior one would expect in such a society is blackmail, backstabbing, threatening legal action, fear, paranoia, detached and lacking empathy. The greatest improvement in work relations probably since the 40-hr. work week is the mass adoption of remote work. It greatly diffuses the power of sociopaths. When i joined my organization, the sociopaths all tried subtly attacking me because they recognized me as a threat, but it’s hard for them to attack me when we aren’t in the office together.

It’s not just a corporate problem. It’s a societal one. Our current cultural paradigm rewards or at least overlooks sociopathic and personality disordered behavior. We’re told to find a way to make it work with disturbed people. We’re told to grow a thick skin, or don’t cross them or told to just accommodate them. Positions of power/authority not only attract sociopaths and personality disordered people, but those fields cultivate them and reward them. It’s heightened in every field that holds some authority over others: teachers, clergy, law enforcement, healthcare, politics etc. Until we reach the tipping point where those who are not disordered or sociopathic refuse to accommodate, overlook or enable them and enough people recognize, name and refuse to tolerate the perpetrators, we’ll continue to see these disturbed people wreak havoc throughout society. In communities or working environments where these behaviors are not tolerated and not rewarded, sociopaths and the personality disordered populations are minimal to nonexistent.... meaning they are a product of what we accept, allow and value as a society. Until we change those, we’ll continue to see the disturbed populations grow.

Well said and unfortunately, you are right. They have a lot of power and they wield it with a heavy hand. They are the source of most evil. People need to be able to spot them and push back. However, until that is expected and encouraged, and there are validated instruments to detect these people, it won't happen. I am working with someone to develop just such an instrument.

It's a societal disease that's everywhere and the people up on the very tip top of society are just as emotionally healthy as the normal people on the bottom. They're just born in luxury these days so they never had to play rough to get where they are. Even in medieval times, the upper classes of society had to engage in warfare but that's not even the case now. They don't know the mistake they're making in trying to reward sociopathic behavior though. It's the guys that turn the wheels in the middle that are thriving on destructive behavioral patterns and they're the ones slowly taking control. The elite just don't realize how much of a mistake they're making rewarding that personality type because they hardly ever see it and its effects first hand and haven't experienced it at all. The elite live in a little bubble where they absolutely can't comprehend the dangers of rewarding antisocial behavior. They're kind of handicapped by living in their perfect little world and it's going to bite them in the ass when the demons they've been feeding come knocking on their door. They aren't ever going to see that they're throwing money at people that are burning the companies they invest in from the inside out because they're afraid to see it. They just want to stay locked in their mansions away from the world, willfully ignorant to the fact that these guys are ruining industries, driving away workers and stealing capital from them every day. They just tell us to get along with them because they have no idea how impossibly ridiculous of a request that is. They just feed themselves off of trust funds and investment deals that their great grandparents struggled to establish. One day when they've been cheated out of everything and every economic safety net they put in place to keep the sociopathic businessmen from sticking their nose in their world gets ripped to shreds, they'll come crying to the normal and healthy people that they let get driven out of any and all industry to come back but nobody is going to lend an ear. They told all the workers to grow thick skin so they did and got up and walked out and started writing their own stories instead. It's not necessarily sad to watch or anything but it's pitiful how far removed the top 1% are from the real world and so much so that they'll throw anyone millions just for running a "tight ship" so they don't have to.

I had a job once that I absolutely loved. My first month I was awarded “best sales person” of the month meaning I sold the most products. I noticed this made some individuals that had been there for awhile very uncomfortable. No one would talk to me even though we all sat in an open style office which was small and we could hear each other across the room. One day (before the award) after about a couple of weeks I was standing at the door waiting for the office manager to unlock the office and another co-worker showed up. I asked if he thought if I was doing ok and if he thought I needed to work on anything. He responded by saying he thought I was doing a great job and if I needed anything he’d be happy to help. Later that week myself and another sales person was leaving work at the same time. His car had been in the repair shop and I noticed he got his car back. I made the statement “yay you got your car back finally.” He said “yeah. Finally.” Then the receptionist who was also a sales person was getting every single new sale that came in because, well, she was answering the phones and intercepted them. Myself and the other two were making cold calls and renewing old contracts. In private I brought up that fact to the office manager. She basically said it’s always been that way and that’s how it will stay. I found out very quickly I could not trust the office manager because our one on one behind closed doors conversation got back to the receptionist. About a week or so after this I began having issues with the receptionist. She had become very harsh, rude and would even raise her voice at me. Everyone heard this. Well, one day I get called into the office on the day I received my second month sales person of the month award (I was top sales person two months in a row, my first two months there). My supervisor was there as well. The manager basically said the man I spoke to while waiting for her to arrive to unlock the door that day said “I cornered him asking him questions”, the guy with the car said I followed behind him to his car and he felt threatened but I was literally parked right next to him. AND they didn’t like the fact I brought up the issue with the receptionist because she “is a veteran”. Huh?! I was never so shocked in my life. How could three different people so grossly misconstrue such things?! My supervisor stood up for me and even got angry with the office manager. The office manager said “I didn’t fit in.” My supervisor said she fits in perfectly and that they were all jealous because I was doing so well. I received my check including my commission, a bonus for top sales person, plus four weeks future pay. My supervisor caught me in the hallway while I was still in shock as to what just happened. She gave me a letter of recommendation which stated I “was let go due to no fault of my own.” I immediately called and received unemployment for a full year just because. That letter helped me get my next job and I have now been here for two years and get along with everyone here. We all are like a small family. Myself and another co-worker are always competing for top sales person and one of us ultimately gets it. We even stepped back one month and let another employee have a turn. She was so happy to get that bonus and it made us happy to see her happy. That’s the way work places should be. By the way, I work for the competition of the old office I worked for. I’m not a bad person and I can’t imagine these horrible, toxic people gaslighting co-workers like this. I called my old supervisor to say hello after I started back to work and she told me the office manager, and almost everyone else including the three co-workers were fired. They learned they had gotten together and planned to get me fired because they were threatened by my work. Smh

Forgive me for being so direct but, to say that sociopaths don’t flourish in companies is absolutely ignorant to the dangers they posses. Sociopaths and narcissists love the game they play. They love being in control (even if it’s just the delusion of control) and they often remain popular with most people in the workplace. When someone becomes the focus of their games, it’s almost impossible for anyone to believe what the sociopath/narcissist is doing and they side with them rather than you. They thrive in society because they know how to play the social game and are good at it. High school, corporations, politics, heck, even some churches are riddled with these types of people. They remain unnoticed until they create a place of importance and popularity within the group before any sociopathic behaviors are practiced and have created a reputation so well that nobody believes the victim and gain so much importance in position that it would do more harm than good to get rid of them. They’re like a cancer or well placed tick within the community. To say they’re not going to be a threat in the future is taking a blind eye to what’s happening.

Thank you for your comment. Like everything human, there are degrees of corporate sociopathy, so one encounters a spectrum of personalities, behaviors and skills. Some corporate sociopaths are more clever than others and therefore hide their destructive games much better. Many rise to the top because they so desperately thrive control. However, the trend continues towards more transparency. Although the best can hide, they cannot remain hidden. They all leave a wake of destruction behind them, and in an emerging digital economy where innovation, agility, problem solving, collaboration, and other valuable human skills spell the difference between success and failure, these personality types destroy the creative environment where candor, trust, openness and transparency are required to move fast and innovate well. We both agree that these individuals are highly destructive and have worked their way into positions of power in many areas of life beyond business. It is unfortunate, but it is reality. The industrial era mindset that dehumanized workers and valued capital equipment over people, was ready made for these manipulative, controlling, destructive people. They thrived in this type of environment. However, what I see happening makes me more hopeful than you. I believe we are late in the 4th Turning, a cycle that is very well documented in the book of that name by William Strauss and Neil Howe. The transition from the current system to a new one will be chaotic, but in the end, I believe we will see the rehumnanization of work become reality, and with it will come an environment in which these individuals are exposed for what they are. Let's both hope that I am correct.

@@PeopleProductivity I'm from Canada. What is your advice? Same here being bullied, mobbed, gaslighting, harassed at the hospital for over 12 years. I've happened to be the top worker for 38 years and have never been suspended. These bullies are jealous and miserable people. Union, manager, HR and the police are all totally useless. Bullies are lazy bums and stupid managers are scared of the bullies. They say about me I'm crazy, I drink, I'm a stalker all bs defamation of character. The biggest mistake since they removed disciplinary measures. They should arrest the bullies and fire the manager. Action speaks louder than nasty words. It destroyed my reputation. I will never quit to make these lazy bums ever win. If I decide to transfer to another hospital and may start mobbing me once again, I don't know all the new managers etc. like in every department like now. So best to not change hospitals. I will never let bullies try to control me from quitting. Never let these low life lazy bums win ever win.

However - I don't think the workplace is going to become more difficult for these types of people to exist, unless corporations (managers, HR personnel and other employees) are trained on how to correctly to deal with them + understand why it is necessary (counter productive behaviour). When the new guy came in, this guy shook his hand, sat down and turned his back to him while my boss and I made small talk. He then took off to a remote office for 2 days until his one buddy, our sick sr level guy, came back. He’s now taking 40 hours pto next week. I hope my struggle is beginning to get noticed. I’ve been trying to tell my boss this guy is impossible to cooperate/communicate with. Oh, he is also pretty incompetent and I asked my boss to have him do more research before interrupting my work. They are prone to exaggerating about what they can deliver, taking away your power and are bad listeners. The only thing to do IME is leave them to it and find somewhere better to work as, once they've undermined the morale of the team members, it takes a long time to recover from the damage they do.

The predominant number of sociopaths in the corporate workplace achieve success passive aggressively through the finance (bean-counters) department by a continual process of cutting until it hurts and then cutting some more; reporting the savings; and advancing to another position before the full impact of their actions are felt through the company and employees. The second most common workplace sociopaths are the managers who incorporate the use of contract or contingent personnel to do their dirty work; take credit for their success; blame them for any failure; under-staff; under-compensate; and then treat them like 2nd class citizens.

Your video is quite inspiring. The fact is, sociopaths or narcissists are posing such a big threat that they could easily destroy the whole planet for they are active everywhere : corporations, politics, crime, domestic, religion. All people should wake up about this. Atleast the corporate world is waking up more and more to the issue. I was as many millions of people, a multiple victim of abuse and lost a sister at the hands of a narcissist. Thank you for your effort, spreading information about it !!

Alain, right on. if we could only limit the ability of sociopaths and narcissists to assume leadership positions, the world would indeed be a better place. Throughout history these are the monsters you read about. Their need for control is so encompassing that they eliminate anyone who disagrees with them.

I left my first corporate job recently, I worked there for 3 years. I have no more savings. No money to live off and pay the bills or we are homeless. Unfortunately I'm stuck looking desperately for another job. Nobody wants me, and the only jobs available are 12-14hr jobs in warehouse or call center, never touching those jobs. I just can't take it or I just wouldn't want to live anymore. I'm just stressed and anxious 24/7. I have a chronic illness which makes everything harder. Nobody cares. I've tried everything possible to make money, even stupid things. I run multiple online businesses, have multiple KZread Channels, I spent all my savings on trying to become a voice actor, which was my passion and the most i've made in a year is $30. I worked so freaking hard, even during my full time job all I did was grind outside of my job. I can't do this anymore, how do people live like this. My whole family thinks i'm a disgrace as I left a good paying job, but it was super toxic and stressful. Constant deadlines, daily meetings and managers making you stay unpaid overtime. I'm only 23. I can't do this for another 40+ years. I wish I knew what to do... I'm burned out too, all I do is voice acting for free and I'm too busy nowadays to even take on small paid jobs. Just sick of this bullshit society.

I would like to respectfully disagree that these behaviours will disappear. Sociopaths will always be ahead of the curve, and will engineer situations to make you appear the toxic one if you’re calling them out, or use a mental health/other sensitive label as a shield against any criticism - something we have become increasingly worried about. I definitely agree the best protection against them is a strong sense of camaraderie in the community - the only thing that protects the herd of sheep from the wolf is trusting each other completely and banding together.

Sadly that company never fired her, but the new Director (who was sane and who had my back) forbade that manager from ever talking to me. What a weird solution, though, to an ongoing personnel problem that should have seen that bully fired.

While watching I wished you were my bosses! I work at a large courthouse in a big city for 16,5 years. I have two bosses now and both are narcissists (or sociopathic. That Im started to think since this week. One is covert and is managing my reintegration process, and the other one is a mix of both and is my original boss (from the department where I really loved my work, but he said I can't come back because I burned out and had a difficult relationship (which I had to say because they said I had heavy mental healthproblems and more stupid excuses (ok now I did, because of their and my ex his behaviour). Even though the building should be about serving justice to people, it's a big toxic mudpool. There are a lot more good people over there than toxics, but still these cluster B's are popping up everywhere to attack. I burned out because of my 20 year relationship with a covert gaslighting asshole narcissist + gaslighting bosses. I was good enough to work my bud off during a reorganisation (was the only origal team member left), but when they had a working team and I got burned out, the carpet is getting pulled away underneath me over and over again. For the second time during this period I am working again and they gave me two months to prove myself. Apart from each other they have giving me abnormaly high targets that nobody can do (we never had targets, but I do) to build up the pressure (there was no room for discussion not doing it). I needed to sign it and refused to do so, because it was like preparing my own funural. Said I wanted to talk about it with the others. Even though they are toxic, I was stupid enough to think they had a mask for each other as well, so that their seperate pressure used on me would come out/ could'nt be ignored and therefore could not be maintained. Stupid me. I got also an idiotic assignment (like making a schedule to justify everything I do; had to write every minute I spent on things in the schedule, even getting coffee, printing or going to the toilet had to be noted. I said more than once it could'nt be the case and if it really was nescesary, but he (the covert) letterly said that I was'nt the one in charge so I was'nt able to the rules of the game. Then he said 'it was for my own good', so that they could see better wat I letterly produce. It needed to happen, period. So I gave the schedule to them because we needed to discuss it in a meeting with human resources involved (which was about me). What happened: making me sign the target paper was sortof denied, because when asked by HR, I said they asked me. The narc looked at me with glazed look, saying nothing. Even when I asked hij zo tell them. Like I had made it up. Giving me the assignment to write down every minute (even though I discussed it many times, why I needed to do that etc), same story. By doing that they denied it. Because of that I looked like a total disturbed fool and nothing I have said was fairly supported. They even got mad, like I was making problems by stressing over made up stories in my head and to make them look bad. I started to cry which made me look even crazier. My last option was to find another department. With the help of former colleagues I did. The new chef asked around (went to the right people) and wanted to have me. I felt so lucky! He said if they would be fine with him taking me and my reintegrate process over, I had a new job. But as you can guess they said no because of my mental health. It was'nt right for me, they knew best. The new boss said he did'nt understand why, but said he would talk to them. Today I hot an email from the man who said he understood my situation and all better now, said things that made no sense at all (they probably told lies), said they only want to help me and I have to stay positive, let them help and not feel sorry for myself (?). He wished me luck and that was it. So I guess after 16,5 years I probably have to leave because of them. My original boss I only knew for one year: he exploited me and I became trash. Under normal healthy cercomstances I would make it easily till october. They ruined my career and almost my sanity too. Today I saw the covert one and he avoided me. I burned out by ignoring and rationalizing the red flags at work and in the mean time I discovered after 20 years what a psycho my so called life partner really was (a covert sadistic tiran). Then everything of their behaviour and my health made complete sense. Awefull people!

I struggle a lot with raising awareness about it. And the bad thing is that we have the 360 reviews in place that in theory and in practice expose the "kicking down kissing up" people, but I haven't seen any consequences. Kissing up works well with upper management, even though lower rungs are signaling the problem.

At the end of the day every human being is only one human being and not a god. Each human being in any organization or community has a set of feelings, needs and desires that they cannot hide forever. Becasue nothing ever stays in the exact same state over time only a human being has limited over all others power no matter what heights they have risen to or have risen to in the past.

I agree and I believe there should be someone who's 100% impartial that monitors work environments for months without anyones knowledge, like an undercover psychologist playing as a new employee. Problem is that corporations are enablers, riddled with hypocrisy and employees get gaslighted into silence. If you complain to HR about inappropriate behaviors like this, their first response is to doubt such claims and since you don't necessary have the time to document every incident (because you're swamped with work and cellphone use is not allowed...) they will brush it off as if you're the one misinterpreting things, even label you as the problematic employee who complains all the time. I mean, how dare you acuse that workaholic person in charge, who's getting work done for this company!! That would mean that we might need to hire someone else?? No way, to give you the benefit of the doubt, let's scold the person into better behavior and they will change forever... Yeah, for a few months because adults rarely change the way they are. Corporations are highly in denial or just turn a blind eye to issues like this because it's convenient.

She was proved wrong and I discontinued my working relationship with her. 1 month later she is asking to meet with me and go over the situation. I think removing myself left her without a target. And now she wants to rekindle this work relationship. What are your thoughts?

Someone who believes that corporate sociopaths are less likely to be dangerous isn't looking at crime stats. Not all violent crime makes the news, especially crimes that follow you home. Preceisly 5 years later not only is this video not true, it's worse.

Thanks for your comment in English, even though it is not your native language. It is appreciated. You were very brave to take them on. These people always extract a psychological toll on those around them. The sociopaths are very concerned with appearances and manipulate others to their benefit. If they perceive you as a threat - even if what you are doing is good for the company and good for the customer - they will start undermining you and continue till they drive you away. By standing your ground and (I assume) controlling your emotions you stood strong, which diminishes their power. Moreover, you pointed out how they are flawed, and manipulative. Nice job!!

Would you re-sync your position on the future date given that this video is several years old? It seems our world is becoming more full of malignant narcissist especially on the political world stage. Also, psychopath killer five if they come into an organization at a very high invisible level with high expectations and I disability. They may not last long but the damage has no end.
