only if you're the one paying for the switch and electricity, whereas for the devs it'd be pure profit which is also why there was a wave of people putting crypto miners on websites despite most people's computers not being very good for mining (especially through a browser)

As someone who hasn't played any Nintendo games, I always expected Cooking Mama to be a super polished game since it's so popular. I did not expect it to be shovelware like this. Not surprised people would jump to bitmining accusations on this one lol

To be fair the first few games ARE pretty amazing, like, I'd put them in at WarioWare Touched levels of good stylus controls, but cooking-themed and decently accurate (as in someone who knows cooking can reconstruct recipes from Cooking Mama's instructions)

I love how crypto shit is so stupidly expensive in the resources it needs just to do the simplest of transactions that it is used as an insulting accusation for when a game is poorly programmed and causes more processing power and overheates the console more than what it should Glad to hear that CookingMama wasn't really a crypto farming game, i have never played the games but I have heard good things about it, lol

as someone who played cooking mama a LOT as a kid, watching you struggle is entertaining AND exasperating at the same time LOL

Glad I'm not the only one who played a ton of Cooking Mama when I was a kid.

I remember hearing the rumors about this game. Once I heard that people were saying that it was mining bitcoin, I knew it was complete BS. I'm pretty sure that only little kids thought that was true. 🤦‍♂️

I mean or just people who didn’t know anything about crypto before it really blew up. Crypto is pretty niche still believe it or not. Most people don’t know what a cryptocurrency really is or how it’s made.

TBH is like saying a poorly optimized 3D game runs worse than a well optimized flash game

ok but I absolutely LOVE how PETA wanted to award Cooking Mama a Proggy award EVEN THOUGH they blatantly made a gorey rip-off of Cooking Mama way back in the 2010's Imagine them trying to award it "wait... aren't you the guys who ripped off our brand? Illegally?" "uhhhh"

In hindsight it might be worse, they wanted to put NFTs in Cooking Mama before NFTs were even a thing

Best part is that Office Create must have been very pissed about the whole ordeal that they just announced a new Cooking Mama game exclusively for Apple Arcade (...yay?)

This made me recognize that I have unrealistic expectations to cooking due to cooking mama.

12:20 the game seems to be incompatible with motion plus wii remotes as it did come out prior to the release of those wii remotes. This is a common issue.

My sister and I used to love playing Cooking Mama Cook Off on the Wii when we were younger! It was super funny to see someone else play it for the first time. If you ever pick up the game to play again, I encourage you to try the "Hotdog" recipe as you literally just cut a bun and catch falling toppings from the sky. My sister and I always would try and cut the bun perfectly for a 100 point bonus (which basically would determine the winner from what I remember xD)

9 of 10 games made in unity sucks ass in optimization I dunno why but i earned a dime everytime i found a ps1 style game that used 4gb of vram or an 8bit game that made my pc turn into a wind turbine i would be rich

fun fact, my band teacher brought her switch on free days, and she had this game. funny thing is though, she regularly played it. kinda surprised by it.

I remember playing the parody cooking mama version by peta when I was young religiously. The intended purpose was to gross kids out from how a turkey was prepared and promoted vegan options but instead i just had fun and didn’t get grossed out at all. Kid me was just having fun killing, de feathering, removing guts from a turkey and peta could do nothing to stop it.
