Hi train friends! I picked up this beautiful little Lionel legacy O gauge switcher A couple weeks ago on my 5 train store trip Jan 3rd when I visited this last and final stop of the day, Hobby Express in Cranberry Twp, PA.

@@PghTrainFanatic yeah racing stops me from over spending on trains. If I win big I’ll buy trains though haha.
Nice to see it in an actual yard environment doing switching work!
I bought the SW2 four my daughter last year, a Lackawanna, I liked it so much I bought the SW8 for me this year. Thinking about the Black River set that is in the 2022 volume 1 catalog. I think I am going down the rabbit hole of switchers. The smoke it impressive on both models.

Nice locomotive Nick. Man I miss big Blue. Used to see them a lot here in Cleveland. A friends dad work for them at their Collinwood yard here.

Nice, switching session Nick! I have the same model but haven't taken it out of the box yet.
Great review and run session Nick! What a smoker! Can't wait until the EJ&E SW1200 that I ordered comes in. I have a couple of Atlas O SW9's, and I love em.
Great video Nick! Great review of the locomotive! Sweet running and sounding locomotive! Thanks for sharing! Have a great and awesome day!
Nice locomotive. The switching scene with the gondolas and the building above the tracks looked amazing.
This was a really fun switching video, I was surprised to see the blue tinting of the windshield which was really cool. I know I've said it before but you have a really beautiful and detailed layout. Thanks for another awesome video. The sounds on the Switcher are fantastic.
How do you clean your scenery. I have to get a ladder and step onto my layout and dust and use a hand held vacuum. Sometimes I use a damp sponge too. Just curious how you clean your layout. Mine gets very dusty after a few months
Since it only has three pickup rollers, do you have any problem with it stalling through turnouts at slow switching speed? Thank you for the excellent review.
I noticed the gates didn't work correctly. What caused that?
@PghTrainFanatic
2 жыл бұрын
Hi I’ve been having issues with the gates but mainly what cause that was the train was moving slow and had no freight behind it so the infrared detector went off thinking the train had passed while it was still inside the block

@@PghTrainFanatic Thank you sir. Please take care and have a wonderful day.
So im new to the hobby but I picked this gem up. My question for you, and I'm just wondering, is it suppose to be slower than other engines? I feel like she's slower on take offs and needs more throttle to get up to speed than my SD 70. Someone told me they thought these were geared different for switching and that it's normal to be slower but they weren't 100 percent and I was just curious if this was the case.
@PghTrainFanatic

Hi yes that’s true the switchers are geared for slow yard speeds. Congrats on your purchase!
