The Conflicting Nature of Football and CTE: Part One

In this video, I explore the effects of CTE on our beloved NFL Football Players. I display doctors who explain what CTE is and the effects it has on players around the NFL. Things get a bit heavy in this video, but I think it's important to educate ourselves on this topic since football is a staple in American culture. There is a bit of conflict, however. A lot of former players say that, given what they know now, they wouldn't have changed a thing. Over 50% of NFL players come from poverty. The reward is greater than the risk for a lot of these players. Most players grow up in poverty with a single parent household, and given their physical abilities, football seems to be their only option to get themselves, and families, out of poverty. Enjoy the video.

Showing the "except few" that make the NFL and the real money... doesn't shine a light on the scope of really how widespread this disease could be... Millions of men in America who played in Pop warner thru highschool and some thru college that never made the NFL level could be silently and unknowingly suffering from this disease and never be correctly diagnosed. Maybe they have developed a drug or alcohol problem to deal with their symptoms, which in hand, masks the real problem CTE. We may never know, but I think your right to make this video, because parent's need to be enlightened to the potential dangers of their son's playing football and the potential longterm affects that decision could have on their lives.

Yes, I was using footage that I could find. It was more to show that for a lot of players, playing football is the best option for them. But I did see stories about high school players who have suffered from CTE and I may include that in part 2. Part 2 will mainly be about Dr. Bennet Omalu linking CTE to football and what the NFL has done to make the game safer. Part 1 is more about what is CTE and the conflict players face weighing out the reward/risk. I appreciate the comment

Not many would bring light to such a subject. We are all fans of the game and we love our Lions but unfortunately there does exist a darker side of football that not many are aware of... thank you for your bravery and work. May God Bless it.@@zarka223
