I know a lot of people like James Sunderland because of the complexity of his story but I personally really loved Harry Mason for being so steadfast and strong in face of such adversity in his life.

He is one of my all time favorite video game protagonists. Not a super soldier, not an experienced fighter. Not some genetically engineered hero. Just a devoted father who goes literally to hell and back to save his daughter.

Aaaaand I'm crying. Silent Hill 1 will always be my favorite, and Harry Mason my favorite character. I have a thing for loving Dads who never give up on their children, even more when they're adopted. And again, kudos to your choices of footage to illustrate your story. Your videos are real treats, man ♥

Yeah, it is expecially great for the ones that didn't had a father, or had a narcissistic one, just wish harry Mason was my daddy😔

I love Harry a lot. My favorite kinds of scenarios are when ordinary people are thrown into weird situations when they don’t have anything to do with said situation, and I love how Harry handles being in that situation. He doesn’t care about the cult stuff for the most part, he just wants his daughter to be safe and to leave. It’s boring, sure, but it’s a realistic reaction, given the circumstances, I think.

He might be one of bravest gaming protagonists ever. Movies were kind-of clunky, but Sean Bean made immensely good work as him - man who fights with ferocity of berserker when pushed hard enough and never gives up.

I remember not wanting to believe that Harry could be taken out by just one Missionary from the cult. My bro comforted me by saying "he is gone in our world but he is actually just trapped in the otherworld and one day they will make a sequel where you save him" and it made me feel better

I still like to think that Harry is still out there keeping the evil forces of Silent Hill at bay. In the nightmare bedroom scene one can see a trail of blood moving away from the bed

I wish that Harry mason was still alive. That way. Harry and Heather mason would still look out for each other. I feel so so sorry for heather. And also harry could be looking forward to heathers future and forget silent hill and the order as well.

One question still haunts me until today: I wonder if Harry's soul got trapped by SH influence after being killed by the missionary under Claudia's order. Surely he did not died IN the town, but.. so is every victim of 21 Sacraments by Walter at South Ashfield - *outside* of SH. If that's true, it's very bleak for the casualties in SH franchise. You die in SH, your soul got trapped and becomes the plaything for itself as a remnant of visitor's nightmares a.k.a. monster manifestation or ghosts or memories, or even a 'tulpa'. You die outside of the town BUT killed by the people there who has its dark powers? Your soul probably cannot move on or rest because of the injustice done by some people like Claudia and Walter.

Another good question is this, in the flash back with Kaufman and Dahlia in Alessa's hospital room in the basement, there are two other men present.... who are they? one speaks above with some sort of authority. Who are these two OTHER people? its another thing to question.

Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed it. It's the 'original' game however the FMV scenes are upscaled to 4k and 60fps (Then downscaled for this video), and the gameplay is emulated with high resolution settings.

Harry Mason is underrated

Seeing cheryl bury harry was heartbreaking for me but i feel in the same sentiment its also heartbreaking that they didn't keep going with the story between cheryl and harry i feel there is so much more that could have been. All this is not said in vain or hate i love silent hill 3 for what it is but its not my favorite by a long shot

yea man; I recommend duckstation. That's a great emulator; look on any search engine for anything else like the gaming files. But be careful you dont fall for any fake links or downloads while looking for the game. Also I wonder what made KZread delete my comment... Try to get one in another website, I found a SH2 copy for 30 bucks and most of the others are around 80. It doesn't have born from a wish tho, sadly

Hey there, thanks for the feedback. Yeah it was a tricky one as he's the main character, so a lot information is sort of already known if you've played the games/aware of the main story. That said, I'm very excited to share more videos on some of the side characters whose stories aren't as clear, where I've had to reference multiple sources to piece bits together. Dahlia's pretty evil, the times when she's "helpful" are when she's lying to you. Overall not a very good mom. Alessiah is good I think, she was just abused and drawn into the cult stuff against her will. She even tried to prevent the birth of the demon god thing in SH1.

Odd that you didn't include Shattered Memories, considering how weirdly different they make Harry in that game. Quality vid all the same ~🤌
