Nelson had a crazy amount of character development. His home movie was one of the saddest things I've seen

It was, it really explained why he acts the way he is. He acts tough, so no one suspects how vulnerable he feels on the inside. He's just a kid who needs someone to make him feel loved and wanted, because he doesn't get that at home.

We do know he hates children because they say alcohol makes you confess your deepest feelings, but he could find redemption in at least giving some love to Nelson, which would not easily reform him or erase his bad behaviour, but make Nelson dessire to open more to the world around him

I also prefer Lisa and Nelson as a couple. He is definetly a much better choice than Milhouse. Nelson and Lisa seem so different. But perhaps this is why they complement each other so well.

Fat, rude, obnoxious, aggressive and was raised by a single parent. Perhaps there is some Freudian behaviour going on with Lisa, and she’s only attracted to Nelson because she sees Homer inside him?

@@Torireactsofficial005 that has a lot to do with it. it makes total sense - nelson is somewhat like homer and lisa is probably attracted to nelson because of that besides “opposites attract” is just vague and is another form of what “Fly Away” said.

Nelson and Lisa is the one that I ship. I wish the writers could show more of them.

Until his father showed up, I thought Nelson might be Barney's son. There's one episode where they're standing side-by-side and you can see the resemblance. Maybe it was another scrapped idea they had early on, like how Krusty was going to secretly be Homer.

i feel like nelson was reverse flanderized. Started with little depth but developed into a well rounded character

What episode does Nelson say: God, if you don’t bring my Lisa back safe? That’s the sweetest thing EVER!!! ❤❤❤

I love Nelson growth as an character he's got an really good backstory

I really like the growth and that we saw his backstory and vulnerable side, instead of just making him a onedimentional bully.

"That's it! Back to Winnipeg!" By far my favorite line in an episode

Hearing him say “my Lisa” just melted my heart 🥹

Nelson is so protective of Lisa Simpson that he's willing to become like Trevor Phillips from Grand Theft Auto V.😂

I have a theory as why, even though Nelson and Lisa are a great couple, they dont stay together as adults. Nelson's mom. She doesn't like people smarter than her and is paranoid that people think they are better than her, and I can definately see Lisa accidentally getting on her nerves, which would lead to Lisa resenting her since his mother would make rude or snide comments about Lisa (and snub Lisa) to try to feel better. I think they alone are a great couple, but I think her potential mother-in-law would force an "either her or me" situation leading to a breakup since Nelson would never stop supporting or loving his mom, and Lisa would probably feel like his mom was taking advantage of that kindness while being disrespectful to both her son and Lisa. I can see Lisa being fine being a step-mom to Nelson's previous kids, and being ok with not changing everything about him, but his mother I cant see someone like Lisa ever truly accepting because Nelson's mother never truly changes, and definately wouldn't show a softer side to Lisa (from what we can see with her interactions towards other women). It would not be a breakup through a fight, more a sad conversation between the two, which would explain why they still talk to each other later on. And she would go back to Millhouse because he is someone she can completely boss around, for better or worse. If she told Millhouse to cut his parents out of their lives, he would.

This theory does make sense! Kind of reminds me of the Edna-Skinner relationship, which ended for multiple reasons, but Skinner's mother, Agnes, was clearly part of why their relationship didn't work.

I like Nelson as the classic bully character archetype, and when he shows his emotions. Also, his iconic laugh.

Honestly it's hard not to feel bad for nelson

Nelson and Lisa better be real end game for this show. I've been watching since day one and I was 8. I have been rooting for them forever. Even before her date with density. And all the future stuff is what's possible at that time in their life. That's why it's always different. The show is written by Harvard graduates. So they are definitely using the thought of the future is never certain. The flash forward episodes are never set in stone. Although I do think we may be coming to the end where they do indeed show us everyone's endings for real soon. But I hope.im wrong and we get to 40!

One of my favorite Nelson moments is when he becomes friend with Bart and gives him one of his vests.

Y'all know. I like this character. Not for how rude and snappy he is, but how he is so kind to Lisa and sometimes he changes his mind about being rude.

Yes! I love the little cute one off moments in episodes where they will just say hi to each-other, or Nelson will hold a door open for her. So wholesome.

From a shallow bully character to being a indepth lonely child dealt with his feelings of abandonment issues

As much as I want Nelson and Lisa to be together in the future the idea that he's the one that got away is too funny.

Eddie Muntz's abandonment of Nelson is widely to believed to be a reference to Donald King the father to famed author Stephen King who left him and his brother when they where tots

Eagerly awaiting the release of Nelson's first book.

Bullies are always interesting because most of them don't even realize they were bullies until they are well into adulthood.

Ya know, it must be harder doing the timelines for the children characters because you only really have the future, with the adults you can talk about the episode that take place in the past and future but you can only really do the ones that take place in the future for the kids, they dont have a lot of episode in the past where the kids can show up.

Anyone remember that episode when Lisa meets a jazz obsessed boy and Nelson got jealous and did everything to win Lisa back that was pretty cute

its a missed opportunity in the show not to have Judge Muntz preside over courtroom cases

@@TheSimpsonsTheory a judge cannot preside over a case where a defendant is related to the judge due to bias my mum successfully caught a shoplifter once as a store detective and the barrister for the prosecution was her cousin so my mum could not give evidence otherwise the trial would have been declared a mistrial therefore null and void

if i had the chance, i would go to his birthday party to make him happy

As a kid, i really hated Nelson but now, i find him a pretty interesting character, not just a stereotype bully

This is why nelson is one of my favorites plus I'll always say it Lisa and nelson are a much better relationship than her and Milhouse

Tbh, Nelson was the best partner for Lisa except for the unnamed girlfriends she has had

i think that nelson strays away from the other three because they are impulsive but they need the others' approval to do those impulsive things. nelson isn't as impulsive as those three and he seems to be smarter than them.

He really has changed i mean i was confused and happy when he gave bart's money back

He actually seem to have the most interesting life after the series

It's so funny I've watched the episode where Nelson says he has a dead sister so many times, but I never actually clocked on to what he said until it was mentioned here. Where's that backstory?!

Nelson is literally the only kid in that show to have their voice drop

I remember when I was young I used to watch the Simpson’s all the time however as I got older I watched it less and less. But since I saw this great channel I started to watch the Simpson’s more and more and my favourite episodes were mainly seasons 1/2/3 to 8. But I still love other episodes and some of my best memories was being 10 and driving home and watching the best Simpson’s episodes for hours. Thank you the Simpson’s theory I love your channel so much and if it wasn’t for your great channel I wouldn’t of watched the Simpson’s again as much.

Nelson "Mandela".. Muntz That's an aspiration, right there.. I think that he wants to be a better man, maybe a general, or admiral, if given a chance. A senator, a philosopher.. There are many paths, for someone whom is willing to better themself.

Nelson is a very interesting character. Complex, behind the bully facade.

Good video. Nelson and Lisa would be good together. Don't like his bullying but he's a good character. Plus is iconic laugh.

Might be looking too far into the details of a comedy show but is there a reason why Nelson wasn't raised by his grandfather? Seems like it'd be something the mother would do to get rid of him.

I'm still in the small minority that prefers Lisa and Milhouse if only the writers did Milhouse more justice... Anyway still hate the way Nelson laughs at everyone's misery and how he ran out on the twins. But I do love the depth they gave him. I do feel his and Lisa's relationship fell apart over either his mother or she tried to change Nelson to much and he wanted her to love him for all that he is. But that's just my opinion.

to be honest I agree with you, especially when Nelson got both Serri and Terri pregnant and ran out on them. Nelson is a good character with good development but when he does what his father did to his own 2 sets of twins I find that a bit heartbreaking and unfortunate. I too wish the writers did Milhouse more justice to to be honest.

I'd like to think that Nelson went to Lisa to ask for her help with a dilemma he has, something like: N: lisa, I need help, I love you and love being with you but I can't have four children have the same childhood I had, Sherri and Terri don't deserve raising two kids each alone. L: I understand, I love that you want to fix the cycle of neglect, raise those kids well, for me.

I don't hate many things but Lisa and Milhouse is absolutely atrocious. Lisa x Nelson is the number 1 thing I would absolutely love the Simpsons to make canon in flash-forward episodes

I stopped watching Simpsons once the removed Apu my favorite character mainly because of a Indian owned a store very similar and sounded just like that, thought it was very true to character. Your time-line almost makes me want to watch it again, I never really gave it much thought and been surprised by learning about Nelson and others.
