@Jim Smith It's true though. Mayweather has had plenty of boxing matches, but not one real "fight." Mayweather's never been in a match with someone who's gonna try to choke him out, or put him in an arm bar, or break him down with leg kicks. Hell, elbows aren't even legal in what he does. Meanwhile, elbows and knees are basic strikes in MMA. If it hadn't been stipulated beforehand that Conor would refrain from using his MMA techniques, he would've ended Mayweather's career. And that's not just Conor, it's *any* prominent MMA or Muay Thai fighter. If Mayweather ever fought one of them, without limitations on _their_ techniques, he'd get destroyed.

But an MMA or Muay Thai fight are closer to the real thing than a Boxing match ever will be. Hell, show me a street fight, or a back alley scuffle, that didn't involve grappling and takedowns. So that makes Mayweather even *less* of a real fighter, because he doesn't even have to deal with that in his genre. A Western Boxer's raw power _is_ to be respected though. I guess when your moveset is so limited, you've got to make up for it some kinda way.
