The first 9 hunger games were not a spectacle. Even the capital wasn’t interested. The whole point of the 10th game was to get people interested in watching.

The dean secretly wanted it to end, but it was Snow who continued it. It was also Snow’s father who started it. So poetic.

One thing: Cinna was not Peeta's stylist. Portia and their team was his stylist team. Cinna, Octavia, Flavius, and Venia were Katniss'.

Katniss’ dad also died in the same mining accident as gale’s dad

Imagine if Snow did not have to be so petty and put Katniss back in the arena. The rebellion could have been slowly contained. His seemingly revenge to Katniss’ actions bit him back and sent him to his demise.

2 things missed! 1. Who actually started the hunger games (Casca Highbottom + Crassus Snow drunk one night “joking” about it, and Snow turning it in w/o telling Highbottom- for their final project at the academy with Volumna Gail - and her actually using it to bring the hunger games to life) 2. That Snow ordered Haymitch’s family to be killed as a punishment for his deflection tactic with the force field when he won his games.

Two things are missing. 1. the 25th Hunger games: the districts voted by themselves who should be sent to the arena 2. Beetee’s hunger games: He won by electrocuting 6 Tributes at once. (His hunger games are supposed to happen around the 23-42 ones)

Would like to mention the first hunger games were not as elaborate, it was genuinely just throwing kids into an old stadium and watching them kill each other. No extra stuff is added like in later Games.

One thing you missed and hasn't been mentioned in the comments... Along with sacrificing ppl with the bombing at the Capitol, Coin decided not to stop the hunger games from happening.

I think she was gonna stop them, but wanted to make them one more time, using the children of the Capitol (and make sure Snow’s granddaughter was a tribute) to give them a taste of their own medicine

Johanna won 3 years before the 74th hunger games lol. She won the 71st Games.

I love this franchise so much and I just wanna say that this should be the blueprint on how you make a powerful female lead. Katniss went through so much hardship before she became the powerful and strong woman that she is. I love the character and I love Jennifer Lawrence (she was my celebrity crush when I was in highschool).

You didnt mention how the hunger games were created by Casca Highbottom and Crassus Snow and were brought to life by Volumnia Gaul

Casca Highbottom didn’t like the games. He made it up with Crassus Snow when they were drunk and Crassus Snow took it upon himself to say he came up with it when he presented to Dr. Gull. It was Highbottom’s idea but it was all a joke not to be taken seriously or used against the districts at all as punishment and power. Highbottom always drank morphling to drown out the games and his hatred for it and was good at fooling the people around him that he enjoyed and liked the games but he did this so he wouldn’t be seen as defiant when it came to the games…

Id love to see a book about hamich's game

The Greeks mentioned a timeline called anacyclosis. We call it the 4th turning. How history rhymes in cycles that continue. Showing us mans fallen state and unwillingness or inability to learn from history.

At first yea but in both books and movies, once they realised that basicly the biggest celebrities of Panem were avout to be murdered many of them rebeled. Like in real world this would be like if the top 24 actors/musicians/models... were chosen to kill eachother

I have to say this was one of the best series of movies I've seen!! One of my favorite movies of my life time. The author has an adventurous, unique, authentic, bold, innovative imaginations I've ever witnessed.

No, Lucy Gray Baird - The female tribute from District 12 for the tenth Hunger Games. Was the victor that time, thought she was lost through time; some thought she has die in the forest once she return from the games others though she had runaway since she wasn’t considered a member of district 12 due to she been a member of group of outcasts but she was chosen as a district 12 tribute and send to the games. So there was Lucy Grey then Haymich then Katniss and Peta.

years 1-49 and 51-73 had 23 non victors per game = 1656 total Year 50 (2nd quell/ haymitch's year) had 47 non victors = 1703 Year 74 (katniss and peeta's 1st game) had 22 non victors = 1725 And I'm not adding in the 75th games since they aren't really kids since they are former victors and the games were interrupted anyways, but if you want to add in a few more here you could obviously. So if my math is right 1725 kids + fallen victors in the last games. Still a lot of people

Every time watch a video there's a new host. When a channel is run by a brand, not people.

I enjoyed the premise of the video, but whoever wrote the script needed to work on it a bit more. Incredibly repetitive in the phrases, analogies, and talking points. Put more time into it and condense all the fluff that made the video longer than it needed to be

The mining accident was actually 5 years before the 74th hunger games

Snow let Katniss get away from a lot tbh. Past winners have done less and got their family killed immediately. Snow opted for a 2nd hunger instead of killing her family first.

Snow had to play his cards very carefully he knew he wasn’t gonna win. That’s why he went crazy… Usually when a person is very close to losing they do everything in their power to go down fighting and doing ruthless things because they know once it’s over it’s over for them too they know they can’t control their outcome anymore.

Is it just me or does it feel like this video was written, voiced, and edited by a bot? Like what's going on with the weird pronunciations at 14:55 and 15:05. I started to think it was strange how sentences were ended with the last word drawn out oddly.

So does “Ballad” contradict the original trilogy regarding the arena? You’re saying that the original arena in the first Hunger Games was complex, but we see in the prequel that it’s just a basic arena and becomes complex as a way to draw more viewership 🤔

Panem, with an e. From the Latin phrase, panem et circenses (“bread and circuses”). A throwback to the gladiators in the Roman arena. Supposedly, the capital provides the districts’ needs and the districts provide the entertainment of the hunger games.

in most post-apocalyptic fiction stories the rest of the world's state is usually unknown, which 1) resolves the issues with storytelling and simplifying the worldbuilding and 2) would be actually not that unrealistic, especially since in most stories the world is in shambles and don't have internet/phones/other ways of connecting with other continents or far off places so someone from North America wouldn't know what's happening in Europe for example and that would be completely plausable

This is a for shadow of what's to come, already they starting with smart cities

so there can be no more hunger games???

That's only the tip of the iceberg. There is so much deeper political meaning about facism, oppression, and war. The commentary on Hollywood is more about how it plays a role in propaganda and the war machine.

So how long did the hunger games go on. Curious because I thought the Hunger games went on for hundreds of years. But this makes me think it only lasted a few decades ?
