Lucasarts​ was my favourite game developer. I was so sad to see them close their doors. This was a beautiful tribute to an amazing company. Thankyou for your work and for showing me some less know titles to check out.

Disney has completely destroyed the Star Wars franchise. As far as I'm concerned the Expanded Universe is the true Star Wars Canon, and the three films Disney made are just bad Fanfic.

I remember going to the shop and seeing Shadows of the Empire on N64, the Hoth section and being absolutely blown away

I almost didn't watch this, as I had never heard of this channel before. But I'm glad I stuck with it. There's a lot of good information here, and the script is very nice. I'm learning a lot about some of the very first computer games I ever owned and played. A pleasant trip down memory lane, for sure.

@itsaPIXELthing just watched some of the one on beat em ups. I've saved it to watch later, cos videos like it are excellent ways to help track down MAME ROMs for download. There are some fantastic modern takes on double dragon style games now too - check out Mother Russia Bleeds. I cannot comment on its politics, but I'd love to be able to play it and all the other new ones like it - they look incredible. Paprium is another I seem destined to never try.

Lucasfilm Games also released several side-scrollers during the LucasArts era, also entered the console market with several successful games, starting in 1991 with Star Wars for the NES, and following the next year, in 1992 with Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Defenders of Dynatron City. Also in 1992, they released Super Star Wars for the Super NES, with each game based on each of the three films from the Star Wars original trilogy: Super Star Wars (1992), Super Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (1993) and Super Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (1994), following with additional titles for the next 3 years. An Indiana Jones game based on the first three films of the franchise titled Indiana Jones' Greatest Adventures (1994) was developed alongside Factor 5, the first of many joint collaborations between the two studios. They also released some games not based on their existing IPs. Zombies Ate My Neighbors (1993) and its sequel Ghoul Patrol (1994) were overhead run and gun side-scrollers inspired by classic 1950's Horror B-movies. A spiritual successor called Herc's Adventures was released in 1997 and was inspired by Greek mythology. Metal Warriors (1995), a side-scroller inspired by mecha anime, and Big Sky Trooper were also developed using the same engine as Zombies Ate My Neighbors. Though these games sold poorly, they later garnered a cult following and are now considered to be Cult Classics from the 16-Bit era.

Jim Ward was responsible by LucasArts demise, alongside George Lucas himself. His obsession with cancelling stuff and starting everything from scratch was the worst thing for the company. I feel sad for all the people that worked there. They should have kept improving adventure games. Cancelling the sequels to Full Throttle, Sam and Max, and the new Indiana Jones were their worst decisions. It's also incredible that Kathleen Kennedy not only ruined the new Star Wars movies, but also 1313. Still, it was a great studio during its golden age.

LucasArts were my 2nd favourite publisher after Microprose! But I got pretty much all the games from both of them!

JK and JA were honest pinnacles of multiplayer excellence. That and AvP2. I feel almost no games matches the ingenuity of these since.

LA Star Wars > EA Star Wars. Not to mentioned, Lucas Arts has both major quantity and quality Star Wars game out there

Wow, all this time i thought wrath unleashed was master of monsters 2. Those games were both great.

You never mentioned trailblazer which i think was a sequel to ballblazer which i actually had a lot of fun with, and i also had Koronis rift, which again was imho prob better than it got credited for, and Maniac Mansion was my fav adventure title of that time,, didn't realize it was Lucasarts as i believe Sierra were the kings of adventure games back then

You can see how their console games were action and for younger player, whereas on PC they were much more serious, with sophisticated gameplay for adults! LucasArts should have stuck with games, as they joined up with Disney for movies, and they went down the toilet, leaving LucasArts and Disney losing 100s of millions with each movie!

Este é sem dúvida o video que eu gostei mais ate agora no teu canal e não entendo porque não tem mais vizualizações Que trabalheira. Estão ai bastantes jogos que não conhecia por explorar. A ver se vejo o remake do grim fandango que ate gostava do original mas aquele interface não me agradava muito. Ora bem , só uns pequenos detalhes, lembro-me perfeitamente de jogar o super star wars em ms-dos, e tambem m lembro de 1 jogo de xadrez , só que esse não sei se era da lucas arts. São apenas reparos, pois o video esta muito bom.

You're spreading misinformation. Habitat was not the first MMO, nor did LucasGames invent the genre. There were several before it. I get that people say this but come on. Do a little extra research to verify claims like that.

I never said that LucasFilm Games "invented" this or that genre. There were several games, of so many genres, prior to those developed and released by LucasFilm (and LucasArts). But, let's face it, LucasFilm and LucasArts surely helped to spread the word for the mmorpg and point n click graphic adventure genres! In this particular case, Habitat was the first commercial attempt at a large scale online graphically based virtual community. It started the mmorpg genre at that level. Thanks for watching!
