The complete Frank Sinatra in "Cannonball Run II" (1984) with Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr

Ойын-сауық

Frank Sinatra played himself in a brief cameo in the 1984 movie, "Cannonball Run II." Frank plays an exaggerated version of himself as an American royalty, chief or "boss."
Unable to secure the music rights of Sinatra's catalogue, the movie introduces Frank with the royalty free song, "Hail to the Chief." For this version, the song was replaced with an intended song.
The movie is owned by Warner Brothers and "New York New York" was written by Fred Ebb and John Kander. The use of the footage and song is used in fair use to showcase the talents of Mr. Frank Sinatra and does not harm the original product.

Hal Needlam said that on the day Sinatra showed up on location to film driving the Dodge Datona to join the race, every actor in the production, even those who weren't filming that day, was there to see Frank reunite with Sammy, Dean and honorary Pack member Shirley MacLaine to reminisce and tell stories.

Sinatra was never in the same room with them. Used a body double for the over-shoulder shots.

Legend has it...they were filmed separately. So Frank Sinatra was never in the same room at the same time as the others. A stand-in was used with his back to the camera.

Yes that’s true, never filmed in the same room. Frank wanted to get it over with. He was paid $80000 which he donated to charity.
