OK, I followed your advice and got the BMPCC4K, but now I have BMPCC4k RAW trouble. I bought my BMPCC4K with firmware 6.9.1 and edit in Resolve 15 studio / OSX 10.11 because my old Mac Pros 4,1 and 5,1 don't really run higher versions. BM RAW recorded on SD cards was running fine in Resolve 15. Resolve 14 did not recognise any BM RAW files of BMPCC firmware 6.9.1 I then bought a Samsung T7 usb-c drive to be able to record 3:1 bitrates in raw in the BMPCC4K. In order for BMPCC4K to properly recognize and record on the Samsung T7 drive I had to upgrade the camera firmware to 7.3. Below that 7.3 firmwareversion the T7 would only record low resolutions like a cheap SD card. Now Resolve 15 does not see my raw files anymore although I can play them on the camera. What exactly is going on here and how can I solve the problem? Does the BMPCC4K produce different incompatible BM RAW files with different firmware versions?! On the BM website I could not find anything about any compatibility issues. What would be the ideal software version setup with my Mac Pros 4.1 /5.1 running various OSX systems 8.5 to 10.11? I have a lot of legacy software that I still use, e.g. FCP 7 etc. Concerning BMPCC4K and resolves different versions, what is working with what? Is there a chart or a table outlining that? Possibly I could run OSX 10.12 but even zhat runs only Resolve 16. BMPCC4K firmware 7.3 BM-RAW files are also not recognized there. I am producing high end table top food advertising at the very moment so highest possible image quality is of the essence. Greetings from Berlin Germany

There's one thing I've noticed a lot of youtubers say when talking about the bmpcc mft sensor about it being a 2x crop factor. This is NOT true to NATIVE lenses, for example if you buy mft 24mm lens, it will be 24mm focal length on the bmpcc. If you used a full-size lens with adapters, for say sigma 18-35 or something, then yes you will get the crop factor. When I first bought the bmpcc and shopped around for lenses it made it difficult to buy lenses because of the misunderstanding that goes around. I hope this is helpful for someone buying lenses for this beast

The bmpcc4k sensor is 16:9, not 4:3. This means the apature is not exactly double and anamorphic has to crop the sensor. It's useful in some settings, but annoying for anamorphic as we can't get the full 4k sensor. Normal pc SSDs work just fine. Just make sure that they can use sustained write speeds. Sandisk's higher end models are good, but oc and others have had great success. These are my preferred medium. 20 minutes is AMAZING for a cinema camera's battery. It's crazy having that much time to change batteries. We're still used to only having a few seconds or running two betteries and having to manually time them.

Is there any way of seeing your recording resolution on the screen… so like 6K Raw or 4k ProRes… just changed up from a Sony FS5 and that was kind of handy to have on screen to quickly check what format you were shooting in…

Hi, thanks for this video. I just purchase BM 4k few weeks ago and everything looks so complicated. Thanks to your video I am slowly overcoming those struggles. I have a question. Can I delete a single clip without formatting the whole SD card? While using the camera outside without PC or laptop? If yes, please can you tell me how. I accidently took few blank clips and I don't understand how to erase them without formatting the whole SD card. Thanks again for making this video☺
