I like how the show started as a strange, weird and fun show but over time it slowly stopped being that and instead became much more darker and such.

Completely agree. I often here the take something along the lines of "Adventure changed for the worse and I prefer how it was" and if you prefer the older seasons, more power to ya but I feel as if that take misses the whole point of why it changed.

Yeah the show definitely grew along with its audience. By the last few seasons we weren't kids anymore, and even Finn grew up from 12 years old to 17 by the end. Making the character grow older along with the audience is something most shows don't do, and it's refreshing. I think Adventure Time having a proper storyline and continuity after about season 4 was what made the show so great.

As much as I loved the finale, the Distant Lands episodes felt like an even bigger finale for the series. especially after seeing Fin and Jake reincarnate together to show that their lives are over, but the adventure will continue forever

The ending of adventure was rushed which is why the finale kinda felt a little off, I think the creators knew that so they created distant lands to really finish the series

A lot of people involved are on record saying they were given a good while to come up with a final season and that the team themselves were the ones who ultimately decided to end the show to begin with, as they felt they were outlasting their target demographic and wanted to give them a satisfying end rather than just age out of the show

You guys are gonna need to remake this again! The new Fiona and Cake is crazy!

6:48 I might be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure AMO was meant to receive love, while BMO was meant to give it. 9:33 While never stated, my headcanon is that someone found a piece of the Lich's comet and put it in the bomb, which explains why the detonation releases the Lich.

Update: Finn has basically been confirmed to have gotten the tattoo while Jake is still alive

I love how deep the lore is, just for LSP’s sass to be what saves the day

This is the best cartoon CN has done in a while. Who knew when we followed Finn and Jake, we were also following their adventures and became adventures of ourselves. Definitely worth the binge watch in the future.

is sweetpea possibly a reincarnation of billy? he becomes a giant hero much later in the timeline, and I like to think that because the lich was using billy's body when he was hit with the sap that it sort of reset billy at the same time.

The lich was only wearing Billy’s skin, not his bones. The last bit of Billy’s skin falls off at the start of the liches monologue, before it is hit with the celestial blood.

I've watched this show since I was little and honestly It's the best show I've ever watched. It's given me great memories and ngl the reincarnation scene made me shed a tear.

10:47 my theory on how Farmworld Finn exists is that cuz unlike regular Finn who is always trying to put others interests above himself, Farmworld Finn only cared about protecting his own family (before he got the crown). The way I see it, Farmworld Finn wasn’t even made by the comet, he’s just Finn Mertens (Take all of this with a grain of salt but I think it makes sense)

In every universe a soul is destined to be Finn Mertens. In Farmworld, the catalyst comet didn't hit the earth so that Finn didn't get the heroic reincarnation. That's the way I see it at least, I think we have the same idea.

Farmworld Finn definitely cares about others. He only put on the crown to try to save the town from destiny gang, and once he puts on the crown he freezes everyone in a misguided and crazed attempt to ‘protect’ them.

Man the lore of this show always makes me so sad. It’s just a never ending battle of good and evil. Simon and magic man’s stories are so sad too. Such a good show

i loved the "come along with me" finale but i think together again episode is the real best finale of this show

I find the fact that, not only is there such a grand amount of storytelling and world building, not only does the whole story end the way it began (the seeming destruction of one era and the start of another through war (probably)), but the fact it has so much depth in character and such an expansive set of ideas is amazing. Sure there's a lot of comedy but it can take itself seriously and is one of those great hits that will never be fully replicated in its uniqueness. Man was it a surprisingly great ride.

As I kid this show felt like a fever dream leading nowhere. But now... Its got so much depth

No way, I never thought a video like this was going to ever be made, I'm so happy this amazing show is still talked about. I just wish more Distant Lands episodes would come out.

or they just used the first video, still on their account until they put this one up, and re-recorded the lines, i doubt they kept a script for a video for years.. :p (& i’m not sure if they even took down the original video or if its was just left up and this update was just uploaded later.. u kno what im tryna say 😅)

you know Adventure Time is the ONLY cartoon that I know that repeatedly makes grown adults of all background cry like little boys and girls. It has that magic that just hits all those soft spots and makes you think about all the little ones in the past, present, and future. No matter how dark, how grim, how terrible we're turning the world into, the adventure will never end. The young ones will always find a way to carry on.

I really hope they make a new show continuing the story with the reincarnated Finn & Jake. I’m so curious to see how much of the world has changed and see the backstory to how it all happened. The only thing that I’d hesitate about wishing for it is that they won’t have the passion to make it as good as the original and the feeling of it being different making the new show not as loved.

i literally watched the 1st full timeline yesterday and now its updated! what a happy coincidence i love how most of the 1st part is just word for word with the 1st timeline video lol it feels so weird hearing it from a different narrarator

My 11 year old and I started watching this show together on Hulu starting on Summer break. I felt like she was ready to submerse herself in the weirdness that is Adventure Time and I am so glad we did, because there is method to the madness of this show and it does go somewhere that makes sense! Now it is her favorite cartoon to watch.😊❤️

The lich was created from the mushroom bomb exploding and in the farm world reality finn ends up detonating the mushroom bomb so the lich is created again

To explain how finn exists without the blue comet. Its likely farm world finn is not hero finn as the blue comet brings magic and heroes to their worlds.

i always thought that gunter became the ice king not because that was his greatest wish but because after the crown was spit out it wasn’t reset anymore like betty had predicted and so gunter became the original ice elemental

13:19 What is the evidence that Ooo is comprised of what used to be America? I'm genuinely curious as I always wondered how the geography of the world changed over time. I understand there's remnants of humanity that have English words (buildings, cars, the comic shop, etc) but wasn't there also Asian languages written on things throughout Ooo? And PB speaking German. Of course those things aren't mutually exclusive, items with / other languages could still have been from North America.

Also these year numbers are mostly made up right, relative only to the patten of catastrophe every 1000 years? Like when you say the year is 1001, that's more conjecture than a canonical number right? I remember Finn once saying in response to somebody asking the year "... Yeah nobody really keeps track of time like that"

He’s using the great mushroom war as the beginning of his timeline (AKA year zero) in similar fashion to how most of the western world of real life earth uses the birth of Christ as year zero. It’s all just made up

Yeah but Finn’s age is always mentioned throughout the show, and a lot of the seasons occur in a single year. In Season One, Finn was 13 and he turned 17 in the final season

I'm pretty sure most people agree that Mr. M from BMO is Martin, so why was his imprisonment in the citadel put first in the timeline?

I looks like some of the dates are off for a few things like the Glass Kingdom stuff and at 16:57 are set to early. OH also that since we know Finn turns 17 there should be a few more spread out dates

It's interesting that both times we see the comet, it's the Ice Elemental that refuses to accept the situation and tries to avoid it at all costs.
