I once read some random comment from the "TBATH isn't that good" crowd that criticized the color pallete of the film, claiming that the good color directors of ghibli are all gone, and I was just left thinking "have we watched the same movie??"

Sometimes people criticise just because they want to criticize something. Other movies get hated for having obvious plot, this one gets hated for being "confusing".

@@damara2268 I mean, to a certain extent, that commenter was kinda right. The main color director at ghibli had died just before production started, so to a certain extent this film doesn't have the same charm as other Miyazaki works. Still, I think that the film is visually interesting precisely because it has a very much needed different pallete and feeling than the rest of his movies, and I think it looks stunning.

This film is a masterpiece. Love the colors. Thank you for this video 😍
