Thoughts on the Color Purple?
At the movie theater, I was in tears! The first and last scenes reminded me so much of growing up in my grandparents' church. The joy and livelihood we'd have seeing and having the opportunity to fellowship with each other was magical!

I love your very fresh take on this fantastic piece. At times I had to remind myself that a white boy from the UK is could not possibly have the same influences as a 55+ year old gay black woman, so you can be forgiven. Thank you for allowing me to see this through your fresh eyes, it was delightful and a gift I won’t soon forget.

9/10 for me. Brilliantly done! Anyone familiar with the story of The Color Purple and is a fan of true musicals should appreciate the work that went in to bring Alice Walker's Pulitzer Prize winning book to life.
