When I was a kid, my sibling and I decided we wanted to grow our own watermelons, so we saved seeds for a few weeks and planted them in the front garden…and it worked! We named our little melon Stan and cared for him and watered him and he was about the size of a football when we showed him to Carl, the boy across the street.
