Sam mentioned they had a mod that gave you a 20% chance to cure an actual infection iirc. Not sure if they have a mod that changed how infections are displayed though.

If you're talking about why he killed his first character, tomato mentioned that yes, he knows it's just a normal infection, but he had no antibiotics or other medicine to deal with it and considered it too much of a pain in the ass to be bothered with when he wanted to start over with clothes anyways. Personally I think it was a stupid decision since regular infections do basically nothing and he had a bunch of clothed zombies right there, but im not gonna try and tell him how to play. The fake dead zombies instantly getting up is still bullshit though.
