Shanell was a pop star on a rap label. They didn’t brand her correctly, nor did they put the right focus into her. The fact that she can sing, they never used her for hooks. It was horrible marketing on Young Money’s end. She deserves so much more. A talented singer, songwriter, AND she can dance her ASS off!

@@LlamawithHat A mixtape song. Y’all are missing the point. Like it’s completely going over y’all head. 😂 She never got to do a hook on a Drake record, never got a hook on an OFFICIAL Nicki Minaj song. Tyga, no. She didn’t get used when she should have. Drake didn’t have to sing everything. Nicki who can’t even sing was on more singing hooks than Shanell.

Cash Money was basically the Bad Boy and Death Row of the 2000s where unlike in Bad Boy where someone gets killed or in jail, it was very similar to Death Row as you hear their most successful acts all the time on the radio like Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, and Drake. The only similarities between Bad Boy, Death Row, and Cash Money were the executives were grimy. I mentioned in your Bad Boy video that all record executives are grimy individuals. Suge Knight is in prison while Puffy and Birdman are free but are constantly side-eyed for their actions and rightly so.

Fun Facts:: hot boys broke up it was due too financial mismanagement.& everyone left cash money besides Wayne. Also Juve left due to contract disputes & missing royalties. Manny Fresh whom was the producer & 1 half of duo Big Tymers he also left cash money due to financial reasons. So right there thats all you need to know about Birdman or should i say Baby. & I also think he groomed Wayne. They was always kissing on the lips & when caught "thats my son" but yet theres an interview where him & wanye were on 106 & park & they asked baby a question about kissing girls & as birdman tryna answer wanye speaks over him "im the only one he kisses" thats sus 🧐👀 Edit: Thankk you guys for all the likes!! I just wanted to add that in no way shape or form am I against being gay...What I am against is the "grooming" & "dishonesty" & the secrets of the industry acting like they Victoria.. she's the only one that's allowed secrets.

Being independent is also extremely hard especially back then when most people that were successful were still from non-independent record labels. Nicki and Drake both did benefit from record labels. Nicki even did the unprecedented and avoided a 360 deal. Shanell needed to at LEAST get on the RIGHT label with the RIGHT deal. She was a pop star on a rap label with crazy vocals and moves, but that label didn't even bother to at least put her on some hooks for songs to take advantage. Shame.

The reason behind Curren$y’s (Spitta) departure has actually come out. His contract was terminated due to the fact that the label wouldn’t have been able to recoup. Spitta lost a lot of his belongings in Katrina and Wayne knew that his artist getting his life together would probably be the better move so he dropped him. Some of those details could be slightly off, but overall it was because of Katrina and that’s why Spitta has never spoken ill of Wayne.

I remember Bow Wow joined Cash Money too back in 09-10' and he was supposed to drop an album called "Underrated" back in 2012 but they kept pushing back his release dates and eventually he got shelved and never released the album and he also tweeted that they wasn't really promoting him as much as Wayne, Drake, Nicki & Tyga...

The truth is, those acts outside of Drake, and Nicki, couldn’t produce a hit on their own without a feature from the big 3. The big 3(Drake, Nicki, Wayne) created their own lane/wave, while the rest were riding a wave sounding like every generic trend in that era. Tyga was never looked at like a YM artist, he was his own brand.. he just didn’t fit in. Drake, and Nicki, were superstars- so they get priority regardless of what’s going on.. I’m sure everyone else was mad, and probably started acting out- even to the point they felt the label were to blame for them not being stars.. the truth? Who’s made a legacy, and who isn’t relevant?

When I was 17 and 18...nothing was playing in my car other than Young Money. I LOVED that Ms. Parker song...I also played that Chris Brown song "follow me like Twitter" and the "shoes" song. Anyone else remember those classics?! The In My Zone mixtape from Chris was a masterpiece to me. Lmao I miss those days so much.

Wayne struck gold when he, Drake and Nicki got together - but damn I didn’t know any of this. Pusha T said bird man stole royalties and etc. which began the entire issue with drake. It’s unfortunate. Young money is very significant in rap culture. Shady selfish greedy fake people like bird man and the ones that messed them over deserve the worst.
