Don't mess with the Italians when it comes to racing 🤣 Those Formula 1 racing pit crews are amazingly fast Average pit stop of F1 is about 2-3 seconds whereas average NASCAR pit stop for all 4 tires is around 10-15 seconds (In F1 you can't refuel only tire change) Meaning that Guido here set a new record in NASCAR history at a mind blowing 3 seconds 🤯

If I have to think about it, the reason he made such a quick pit stop is because that's probably literally his job for hundreds of cars every day, long before the freeway was built. Thus, he retained part of a long earned muscle memory of changing tires at the fraction of time, honed through years of service of multiple vehicles, trucks, and motorcycles.

Man I loved this movie when I was a kid, this was definitely one of the highlights of the film.

The way McQueen isn’t even worried about the short time he has. He trusts and confides in Guido completely. I will never get tired of watching this scene- or this movie, considering I’ve watched it 17 times in the past three weeks.

I know it takes a little bit away from it because he had a damaged tyre so was forced to pit but I really liked this scene because it contrasted the new mcqueen trusting his team do help him win with the one from the start who refused to let his pit team change his tyres because it would slow him down. That original scene where he refused to change types only for them to blow out and cost him the win sets up the entire plotline of the film and then right at the end his pit team are the ones that save him from losing from another tyre failure. For a kids movie the character development is pretty crazy. The majority of it will be completely lost on the target audience.

Whats most amazing about the pitstop isn't the speed, or how accurately each tire falling is timed. It's that he releases each of the old tires so that they roll and fall perfectly in a line behind lightning.

I’m a trainer in a warehouse where we mainly use forklifts everyday, and every time one of my trainees gets cocky I humble them by doing what I’m training them on at my production speed, and everytime after I show them they look at me all flabbergasted and I just look at them and go “pit stop” all because of this scene😭🤣💀

Less known fact - Guido had a past where he was best one-man F1 pit crew doing sub 2s pit stops but the rocket fuel and NOS during the after parties led him down a dark path. Ultimately, he found his calling again in Radiator Springs.
