Tytarion Daggeron It is not a scene filler. It is directly from the original Pride and Prejudice by Austen. In the original book she sings out of tune trying to entertain the guests. lol

@@chicha1964 yes thank you.. the whole point is that mr Darcy looks down on the family and sees them as tasteless, among other things, and not good enough for his "high class" friend. While the girl is a good dancer, her dancing is not appropriate for the occasion. The mother is just trying to show off her daughter in a obvious way. This scene is appropriate to the original story.
