Ok, I am from Romania, and I support Rapid Bucharest, one of the biggest rivals of Steaua...and this isn't good. It isn't good for Bucharest, and it isn't good for Romanian football in general. Steaua needs to exist, all useless arguing aside. It's one of the biggest brands in Romania. Plus, nothing feels more satisfying than beating them. My team beat the "clone" a week ago and it just wasn't the same :) So yeah, even I, a die hard supporter of Rapid, hope Steaua regains its identity. Si asta pentru ca am mentalitate.

Ojog Oliver Furtul istoriei e cel mai rau lucru care i se poate intampla oricarui club de fotbal, si de cele mai multe ori tine de jocuri de culise, si nu de ce se intampla pe teren. Chiar si cand e vorba de Steaua, nu pot sa fiu de acord cu tararea fenomenului prin sali de judecata sau mai stiu eu ce. Steaua apartine baietilor din cele doua peluze, aia care merg la alte sectii in prezent...cum or fi ei. Poate ca ar trebui sa lasam pentru un moment disputele pe culori si sa vedem ca Federatia si organele abilitate incearca sa ne ia ce-a mai ramas din fenomen in tara asta.

Ryaaan Nothing like the Old Firm, yes. The current Rangers club is a "clone" as well, if I'm not mistaken, but it has fan support. Whatever the fans want, I guess. Hopefully it'll be back in the SPL next season.

Jason Button this whole shit is happening because Romania wants to host euro 2020 and the old stadium of Steaua will be rebuild so the corrupted army of romania (which holds the history and name of Steaua) wants to separate from the owner which is Becali (a cancer to the club) and hopes that the army will have some kind of a team and will play there which will never happen.

I had the pleasure of watching a team that i seen on TV from my childhood make it to the 1/16 finales in the CL with the fans in Aalborg this year. Great team with great fans. To know that it was one of the last games with the name steaua made me sad as hell... Something i wouldnt wish is for a club to be stripped of a name and badge due to politics. I hope this gets solved so i can see Steaua Bukarest play once more! :)

Alexis alex Was a great game, two teams that wanted to play proper football, and Aalborg got the lone goal after a slip by a defender, we were lucky as hell to win that to be fair. I hope you had a great time. You fans from Steaua! won my respect alot that night. Fantastic away crowd and i enjoyed the after game talk with some of the Steaua fans in a bar that evening. Great experience for me.

Yes. If you wanted to have a better view of Romanian football you should take a look at almost all the clubs in our leagues. Besides the Steaua situation we also have: - Bankruptcy in Rapid Bucharest (unable to pay the players and relegated for it a few years ago, now back in the league but again almost relegated) - Bankruptcy in Cluj - penalized 24 points (dropping from 2nd place to 18th place) for not paying their players. And many many more clubs, as mentioned by Maitre, U Craiova and Poli Timisoara relegated for unclear reasons, Otelul Galati almost bankrupt also. I suggest you go back to Romania as fast as possible to cover this stories, because I truly think that in 2-3 years time we won't have a football league anymore. Who knows, maybe Steaua can move to Barclays Premier League. I think we can beat the likes of Burnley or Leicester and stay up for a few seasons :)))

A similar situation has happened to my team in Portugal. The Primeira Liga team Belenenses divided in 2 in 2018, the B SAD, who had the license to play in the Primeira Liga and Belenenses that had the naming rights, logo, trophies and so more, but had to restart in the 6th division. As the majority of the fans, I decided to stay loyal to the old Belenenses, even in the 6th division, our identity is not for sale!

Hope that staeue Bucharest get their identity back. As a Cardiff fan I've known what it's like to have lost your club.

And also huge thanks to all the other football fans around the world that are showing support, this is what football is about: the fans & respect. As an Everton fan I can see why the fans of Steaua Bucharest are so upset about this as a few years ago we had our identity taken from us by our own club and we didn't feel like we where the same club for that season all we could do was hang on and hope that the club realised they had made a massive mistake sooner rather then later. As fans we chose to boycott anything with the new badge on which affected the club sales massively but still supported the team like we always had it was only a season but eventually the club gave in and let us fans choose what we wanted out identity to be instead of forcing it upon us. I just hope the Steaua Bucharest fans get their club identity back soon because from the looks of it they are in a very bad situation if they cant get fans back on their side fast.

We used to have a team like this in Scotland, Glasgow Rangers, they never won the European Cup though. They died in 2012 and started in the bottom league in Scotland as a new club

Steaua suntem noi. You should go in Timisoara , Romania , investigate the local team situation , is also weird. And Craiova , Romania former club dissapear and a new politically born one rise in the second league now is really in the top 5 in first division. Romania is strange.

i m from Romania and i m a really big steaua fan this means that i love the team and the football that they play sow it never minds if team changes the logo a true supporter should suport the team not the logo or the trophies even if they lose sometimes or they don t qualify for the champions or europa league i will suport this team 4ever......Forza Steaua.....Campionii din Ghencea
