God, we need a sequel to this game. It is the first, only, and best tank sim set in the Star Wars universe. Piloting the TX-130, AT-XT, and LAAT was an absolute joy. The unique missions where you got to drive the Speeder Bike, STAP, Maru, and AAT were excellent as well. What I would do is expand the range of vehicles you can drive for each type of level. Add the AAC-1 Speeder Tank, GAT, Dark Acolyte, and AAT for tank levels, the AT-RT and AT-ST for walker levels, and the ARC-170, V-Wing, Y-Wing, Delta-7, and ETA-2 for gunship levels. Maybe create some new tanks and walkers just for the game.

I used to play this on the Gamecube when I was REALLY little. I didn't understand how to play, and I found it boring because of how vehicle-centric it was. When I was a kid, all I cared about was playing as a Jedi, so I would just play Geonosis Academy and sometimes the Multiplayer modes. I remember being disappointed that your characters were so small on-screen in the in Geonosis Academy. Seeing this video is actually kind of surreal because I have no recollection of the campaign AT ALL. I must not have touched it when I was a kid. Once Lego Star Wars 1 and the Battlefront games came out, I never looked back. I might pick this re-release up to relive the game. Keep up the awesome content, Flandrew!

it's probably just being a kid and growing up with starwars but I still feel the Clone wars is majorly underused for games. As a "galaxy wide conflict" it feels like we only get like 5 planets with some cameo appearances from 3 others. It's why I feel that things like Galactic Contention for squad, Almost any Arma 3 starwars mod and the clone wars era in the battlefront games are so loved but we constantly get the Empire vs rebellion as the main focus when the Clone war is an infinitely more interesting era.

Cleared it in a day and went back to my other games. Eventually gave it a second chance and tried to clear it 100% but one of the Raxus Prime secrets (from its second level) drove me nuts. I eventually got the other two games (Bounty Hunter and Jedi Outcast) later on: Bounty Hunter a few months later, and Jedi Outcast... some eight years later on a two-disc collection for PC; and the PS4 remaster some two years ago.

I wish the Dark Reaper story made into the Clone Wars animated series. One, it would have added some Old Republic material to current canon. Two, it's just a really cool concept that fits the Sith a lot more than Palpatine's bland Death Stars.

Okay, poll for the old school Star Wars gamers out here- Which game had worse on-foot gameplay- Clone Wars or Rogue Squadron 3?

This game is a prime example of just how well Lucasfilm was streamlining the continuity between the movies and the Expanded Universe. The game connects directly to Ulic-Qel Droma, the protagonist of the Tales of the Jedi comics from the 90s, which also connected to Dark Empire through the planet of Ossus (the original planet of the Jedi). Exar Kun was the antagonist of those comics, and was featured in the Jedi Academy book trilogy. The Tales of the Jedi comics are also the backstory for the Knights of the Old Republic games, and you can find items related to some of the characters. Furthermore, Jedi Academy, the game, features Marka Ragnos, another Sith from the Tales of the Jedi comics. The Jedi Academy game was the last in the series of games with Kyle Katarn (Dark Forces, Dark Forces II, and Outcast). Dark Forces II featured the Valley of the Jedi on Ruusan, which was related to Darth Bane creating the Rule of 2. There was even a comic series, Jedi vs. Sith featuring this battle and the Sith thought bomb that trapped all of the Force spirits. These stories were exceptionally well done for the most part, and it's impressive how well Lucasfilm managed to pull off tying them all together in a way that made sense. If you haven't read these comics or played these games, they are well worth the time.

Truth be told, the respect was mostly unidirectional from the game writers. Book authors largely refused to acknowledge game events until well into the 2000s (I remember the fandom going wild over Kyle Katarn finally getting a single damn mention in one of the NJO novels). I think the problem was that while many books were written by big names in the fantasy scene, those authors were typically boomers who looked down on video games. Mysteries of the Sith, for instance, had so many references to the Thrawn trilogy (granted, the Noghri being humongous beasts wasn't the best take on the source material), but nowhere in the books could you ever hope to find anything on that Rebel base from the beginning, for instance. It just never happened. There was just a lot of ego going on there, and not just against game devs, but also against each other. What I hated about Zahn's writing in particular was just how obsessed he was with his own small circle of characters and how he had them talk shit of other people's creations (like Pellaeon calling Daala an idiot in the Hand of Thrawn books).

This game is why I like vehicle games. The Jedi tank controls sure aren't great and a few moments but the vehicles, fair levels (eh Raxis Prime and Rhen Var) the HUD, the set pieces. The arena/multiplayer maps. It is good in some areas. Stretching hmm not good. Save states yep. Didn't remember ghr lasers being that good even in Battlefront 1&2 I think they twraked it there or its a bug in this emulated version of Clone Wars. I never played the academy mode but did the others in Force Unleashed. I only did the arena Thule Moon one and a few other maps. Ah PS5 struggles at some points sigh as usual with how the emulator goes.
