The Stormtrooper never said Vader didn't have the authority, but that he himself did not. This is different to what is said and implied early on.

In my opinion, if the clone outright said “Yes, we have been indoctrinated for such a situation.” Then Vader probably wouldn’t have killed him since it would’ve made it seem that Sideous didn’t care if Vader knew

Uh they did know, all the orders was public knowledge even the Jedi knew, it’s just there was like 150 of them, with one of them even being that the clones would arrest palpatine. It wouldn’t really be that suspicious if one out of 150 of the orders was to destroy the Jedi if they ever went rouge, it’s just palpatines definition of rouge was quite different than the Jedi’s lol

You're using Disney canon, which is not in our archives and therefore does not exist (wasn't worth archiving). In Truth, the clones knew all 150 orders. Did you not ever play the Battlefront 2 campaign?

Ya know, one thing always bugged me. The number of times Sidious indirectly tried to/ almost killed, Padme (the second episode of the Clone Wars, he sends her on a 'diplomatic mission' right into the heart of the separatist fleet for example), and yet, Vader didn't drop sidious as soon as he made the connection. He should have been smart enough to know Palpy would never let Padme live, since she was a distraction for Vader, and could have possibly pulled him back to the light side, if he hadn't gone Freddy Kreuger at the temple first :P

Anakin cared equally, probably more, about power. He thought Palpatine would teach him everything the dark side had to offer, and he felt that the Jedi were holding him back. Also, when he saw Palpatine easily wipe out 3 Jedi Masters (and defeat a 4th after a lengthy battle, where he did intervene), Anakin knew that Palpatine was not someone to be trifled with.

you need to keep in mind that the only reason Sidious had the power to hide right under the jedi's noses was because there was/is a dark side nexus under the Jedi Temple, which meant that Sidious was insanely powerful on Corusant

He could suppress and hide his force power, the nexus was clouding the Jedi seeing in the force,but Sidious was able to do the suppression on his own.

This makes me think that leaving Anakin's mother unprotected on Tantooine was the dumbest thing the Jedi ever did. What are the chances that Sidious didn't know how to find Anakin's mother? Wouldn't killing her be a good way to turn Anakin?

I think Vader was overly paranoid this time... yes, the possibility existed in the early days of the Empire, but as a Sith Lord, one should expect betrayal and enemies all the time, as Vader learned when some imperial higher-ups decided they wanted him dead. Vader was also aware that Palpatine could end his life at any time: this was made clear the moment Vader rose from the medical table and tried to attack Palpatine with the Force. He didn't need Order 66 to deal with his crippled apprentice. Besides, as the clones were gradually replaced by regular humans, who lacked the training the clones received, had no control chips to suppress their free will and would probably think twice before attacking Vader out of fear, the possibility of a second Order 66 pretty much disappeared.

tbf Vader and Palpatine's relationship was immidetly following ROTS was fairly different between Legends and Canon. As in Legends Vader didn't attack Palpatine right away and Palpatine kept up his "My dear friend how are you" persona for much longer, with this story specifically takes place only 6 months after ROTS in a universe where the chips didn't exist (well they technically did but they were only introduced 1 month before Disney created the new Canon), so Vader was still getting to know how the Sith really operated.

One thing these comics do well outside of showing the true power of Vader, is show how severe and powerful a threat Sidious really is. I think some people look at him as a small, old man with some power and in power, and the prequels didnt show his real prowess with a lightsaber. He was staggeringly cunning and was able to keep Vader in check with a few words.

After so many years I finally noticed something.. at 2:36 Anakin started doing the whole Darth Vader crossing arms thing, before he went into the black suit.

I've always wondered why Vill is wearing generic white clone armor in this comic instead of his normal 501st commander armor.

This makes no sense though, with order 66, Palpatine's true nature was still hidden from most and so the order was a clandestine one. With Vader, he wouldn't need such an order as he could just have commanded them directly to kill Vader...

One thing that has always bugged me about order 66, what prevented the clones of the 501st (or any others for that matter) from attacking Anakin? He was a well known, recognized Jedi. Was there an override for order 66 used to designate Anakin as being exempt?

Palpatine probably told them and the Coruscant Guard Anakin was one of the few who hadn't turned traitor. Although after Vader's nuts combusted the need to tell the Clones again disappeared as well.

@@mindwars101 palpatines plan of installing chips into the clones brains had scripted instructions of Order 66 and part of it was not to engage anakin as he was part of the sith. There was also instructions if anakin didn’t end up with the sith.

@@Alamina5.0 I think it's just "The Chancellor" ordered them not to. We actually see in the Darth Vader comics that the Coruscant Guard opened fire on Vader post-suit while chasing Jocasta Nu cause they mistook him for a Jedi before being ordered to stand down by Commander Fox. And a few issues later we see a Jedi use the force to activate the chips in a squad of clones who never had their chips activated to open fire on the Inquisitors, as the order stated that even those who left the Jedi order are to be targeted before Palpatine founded the Inquisitorius.

Wow playing fallen order i like the game advice for the Vader part at the end. "You dont fight Vader you run" in other words your lucky if you survive an encounter with Vader and in the game they show so well just how powerful he was and fear he eminated. So got to give it to Vils he had a huge set of balls to tell Vader no😋

As is the way for the Sith I dont think Sidious would've minded that much lmao.... but Vader didnt have to worry about that for much longer they would be replaced not too long afterwards

As is the way of the Sith, Sidious would have been severely disappointed that Vader got caught. He might've wanted to use his force lightning to cheer himself back up, and that's a deathstar-load of nopes for Vader

When Sidious found Vader was making his own empire inside the empire he was actually happy.caise his apprentice was actually acting like a true Sith lord finally. He still might've punished him but it wouldn't be for what he did kore cause he was a psychopath and enjoyed doing it.

1:00 that is only partially true, if I am right, and I am pretty certain about this, there was a comic, where it was explained that anakin, not having a father, was created by an experiment of palpatine, after him and plagueis were experimenting before in manipulation of medichlorians. This is further solidified by the fact that palpatine tells anakin that plagueis was able to preserve life, this also indicates that they were able to CREATE life. And this experiment is anakin, thus making palpatine more or less his father, although unnatural, and his manipulation even greater. He tried to artificially create the perfect apprentice, or even possible body, to take, later on.

Palpatine wouldn't have had Vader executed for asking questions. That would've violated the Sith way. Palpatine would've only executed Vader if Vader challenged him openly in a duel and Palpatine would've done it himself.

I'd say yes. He wanted to put Anakin in that situation where his choice to abandon the jedi, or join him would be made in a panic, Anakin wouldn't be able to think through all the implications of his actions.

I just find it tragic and frustrating that despite his past Darth Vader treats the clones with sense of neglect and distain in the same way he would for stormtroopers. Despite not to long ago Anakin Skywalker would have gone out of his way to save the life of one of his troopers and would never had been quick to take the life of loyal trooper.
