The Clay Bells of Liss
Музыка
1984 (Is it really 30 years). The Liss Campanile were the first ring of ceramic bells in the world. They replaced what was the first ever ring of Galvanised Buckets - but not quite the last! In those days 'Peals' were not accepted by 'The Central Council of Church Bell Ringers'. As a response we were fortunate to acquire the services of Colin & Patrick Reid from Newbury to put together a short video to promote our 'bells' and our band, the Society of Liss Campanile Youths. Sadly it didn't really have the desired effect, as our peals where henceforth labeled as "Miscellaneous Performances".
My thanks to Roy Lemarechal for keeping this video for all those years. I never got a copy myself at the time as I didn't get a VCR until 1987! I have cleaned it up, and edited out the damaged bits.... I hope you enjoy :-)
I must say I did look a bit of a mess in those days!

Amazing how you were able to do this, and an excellent video showing how mini-bells work. Love to see all your homemade things, eg clappers, frame, wheels, bell rope

What happened to the Liss Campanile? Is it still going today
The Liss campanile was first a set of bucket bells, after they were replaced with clay bells.
