Denise my apostle mom did a wonderful job in this performance and she blended well with the sisters these videos featuring my apostle mom Denise no fan that's a real fan of The Clark sisters would never discredit Denise and her ministry in accomplishments she carry the harmony that The Clark sisters needed and I firstly think they need her today let's be honest and this is for the true old school fans when they were the five they sound better they knew their parts the Harmony it's not the same without the niecey when she left the group It wasn't the same my apostle Mom can lay that soprano down like nobody else .

Denise added SO much to the Clark Sound. It was fun, quirky, so new wave and flirty even. Had they ever done R&B she would’ve been a standout for solos

Twinkies Jehri Curl is iconic.

I describe Denise's vocal contribution as strident in the most positive sense of the word. Her voice is arch, reaching for the heavens, not smoothly, but with attack. It's the cry out among the others, that's why I call her "the spirit" of the group.

People saying Denise is off key, I think her mic is just louder than everyone else’s except Twinkie and she’s getting her entire life. Let her live lol she sounds great and it’s so good to see ALL FIVE!

I think we were expecting her to blend with her sisters especially knowing she has the highest voice... even Karen's mic is normally louder now than her sisters but she does blend Plus with Denise she was extremely loud on certain parts I believe is what ppl are talking about ...

I'm so happy to see quality footage of The Clark Sisters (including Denise Clark-Bradford and Dr. Mattie Moss Clark)

I was a small child when this song released but I remember everywhere in my neighborhood it was on repeat!!

This was my mama song....went out to her granddaughter...you both RIP!!!💕

I don't know how these vintage videos all of a suddened appeared but THANK YOU! I never heard Dr. Moss-Clark speak before, never knew just how special/talented Twinkie is, and seeing Denise performing with her sisters! PRICELESS!!!

I see how Twinkie arranged the ladies mic and adjusted them by sound, to help their blend - Another masterful move. I believe Denise is such a strong and specific sound, Twinkie lowers her mic to blend with Karen who may have had to preserve her voice at times to lead or share a stand out part in a song. I think Karen has Denise mic and vice versa lol Denise is trying her best to push out and is so encouraging to watch - they ALL ARE- God bless these ladies

That bass guitar is anointed and with the flugelhorn, trombone, saxophone, and the drums along with Elbernita on those keys is amazing. And Denise…..my GOD-she has a favor over her that’s pure gold! Yes she sinned like we all have! But her praise and worship has never left her. I feel; in order for her to be healed and delivered on a lot of things from within. She had to separate from her sisters. That’s the only way she was going to hear Him and be set free! The Heavenly FATHER has Denise right where He wants her! Keep working in her LORD! 🕎💙🤍💜🕊

I saw some of the comments (some of which I’m assuming were deleted by the page administrator). I think that we just regularly and so often hear the vocal colorings/techniques of Karen, Dorinda & Twinkie - since they are the 3 usually singing the leads/verses/ad libs/etc. or are the ones stepping out front. I know Denise is no longer in the group - it’s just my observation that the vocal stylings of both Denise and Jacky aren’t as celebrated by listeners as that of the other 3 sisters (and I listen to these ladies, solo and as a group, daily). I don’t think because 2 of them do not deliver elaborate vocals like KCS, DCC or TC, the vocal contributions from Denise or Jacky (past and present) should be diminished in any way. The Clark sound is iconic! I really make this comment with a spirit of peace. I don’t want to argue with anyone, 😂. I just love good music and The Clark Sisters like everyone else. God bless!

Instead of just enjoying the videos of all the sisters together it's negativity about the obvious things such as her being pregnant or other things that aren't relevant. Smh it's really sad

Despite anything else they are family, not to mention they are elders all in their 60s and 70s .

Y’all… admitting that Denise is not blending well and is missing some notes is OK. We still love her. We really need to get comfortable with honesty. Can she sing? Of course. Is she off pitch in spots? Yes. Period.

I think Denise mic was turned up however I think her voice here added to the song and this was what the original version was supposed to sound like. Yall know they remade this song once she left the group, removed her vocals which is why you no longer hear her vocals in the version that is out to this day. She even spoke on this in her interview with Larry Reid that her vocals on on this album before she left the group but she was edited out on the final version

I think you may be getting albums confused. YBTS came out in 81. The album that her vocals were mostly stripped was Heart & Soul in 86, when she left. I say mostly cause most fans, including myself, can still hear traces of her vocals on many of the tracks.

@@KHerronCOMS no Jacky is singing "tenor" and Dorinda alto 1 and MMC alto 2 with Denise and Karen singing soprano 1&2. Jacky tone is very distinctive. Mattie and Dorinda are very similar making this alto rich.

No it is not just you! She is loud and and all the way wrong. All these people praising her just have a soft spot for her after that movie, as some feel she was done wrong. But her mic was all the way up and it was not good. But good to see Mama up there with them holding down that tenor. 🙂
