State of Rio Grande do Sul has been cut off from the rest of the country as floods washed away roads and bridges, while airports remain submerged.
According to the latest assessment by the state's civil defense agency, 372 people have been injured, with 128 still missing.
Over 1.5 million individuals across 417 out of 497 cities in the state have been affected, with more than 200,000 forced to evacuate their homes.
Officials have declared it as the "worst natural disaster" in the state's history.
Emergency relief efforts are underway as authorities mobilize resources to assist those affected by the catastrophic flooding.
