THE CIMARRON THUNDERER... IN A STORM!!!

To paraphrase the famed film director John Ford, "If this isn't the way the Old West sixguns were, it's the way they should have been!" The Thunderer, a full-sized Model P, peacemaker-style single-action revolver that was designed by Cimarron founder and president Mike B. Harvey and made on the Old Model (pre-1896) frame and "bullseye" ejector head. However, as a departure from the traditional peacemaker-style arm, this six-shooter utilizes the natty birds head grip, and is much like that carried by Val Kilmer's "Doc" Holliday in the 1993 hit Western, Tombstone. Cimarron's Thunderer is available in the 4 3/4-inch barrel or the 5 1/2-inch barrel, as well as a 3 1/2-inch barreled version, that makes for a superb carry single action. This well-balanced smokewagon is offered in Standard Blue finish with the color case hardened frame and hammer, a .45 Colt, .45 Colt/.45 ACP dual cylinder, .44 Special, .44-40, .38 Special/.357 Magnum. This Cimarron Thunderer ‘is a daisy!’

My thunderer in 44 special with a 4.75" bbl. has become my main carry weapon. It comes out of the holster slick and smooth and it points like a finger.

I've had mine for probably twenty years now. It is my everyday carry backup. Great video, the Thunder could not have been timed more perfectly! 👍👍

Looks like it feels natural in your hand, would be nice with the low profile hammer, like the CMS models that Cimmeron makes. I have the Model 'P'- .45 Colt - with the 4 3/4" barrel, I've had a Jager Dakota - .45 Colt - with the 5 1/2" barrel for several years, you can't miss with it. I had a little trouble with the 4 3/4" hitting my target at first, but I just kept practicing and found the sweet spot, now it is just as good as the other. You look like you really enjoy the old girl. I have been thinking Bout just getting that. But my body tells me to buy a original 1877... I swear to the world I will use it for concealed carry. And it will be may cuddle gun when I go to sleep. 🤠😁

I think it would be a great carry gun in 41
I have six in my single action collection now and thinking of getting another pair. You don't have to remove the ejector rod housing to get cylinder pin out, it pivots out of the way so easy to remove cylinder. It is a load 5 only model and does not have that floating firing pin. I like single actions for edc even though I have double action snubbies and 9mm's The CA346 is on the "blackpowder" frame but is rated as a smokeless gun, in the cylinder pin is retained by a screw in frame not crosslatch.

I love the feel of the Thunderer/Thunderball grip in the hand. I like it better with checkering, like the El Malo II I had. With checkering/texture it's the perfect combination of size, shape, and controlability.

No, Colt never made this gun .........but he should have. I love mine.
My store has primers but with a limit of two boxes a person. I have decided that I may recruit people from across the nation to each walk in and buy two boxes and by doing so, this may put an end to my primer shortage.

lol yeah i understand. we recently got lucky and got a good deal on some magnum primers on gunbroker so we started loading our 45s with them

i Just use a blackhawk cheap inside the waistband holster
I will stick with the Colt , that little thing is pug ugly - might be good for a starter gun in horse racing .
