The CIA headquarters in McLean, Virginia, has a campus structure with surprising history

The CIA headquarters in McLean, Virginia, is one of the most secure and secretive compounds in the world. About 10 miles outside of Washington, D.C., it's where thousands of CIA officers work to protect against foreign threats. The oldest structure on campus is a four-story, Georgian revival-style house whose history and inhabitants may be surprising.

This case is not an eminent domain. In an eminent domain takeover, you have to sell your property to the government whether you like it or not, and you have to leave the property pronto. In this case, they sold their property to the US government and they got to enjoy the properly until they died.

Brought back memories! I’ve given briefings to several “foreign visitors” in that old home. As for allowing existing residents, who are not employees, to live in existing homes or structures which are “suddenly” located on official GOVT property, this isn’t the only place or family where this was allowed. Finally, despite all the negative comments about how horrible agencies like the CIA are, this US of A would not be a free land if they didn’t exist. It is true that our military is by far our front line of defense…..if it was not for our intelligence communities, military assets would have practically zero direction to act. The failures with intelligence are generally well known. What you don’t hear about are the many more successes that have led to freedom and prosperity for millions of people around the world! Say and think what you want, but I guarantee you that the true reality is far better than you can imagine! I have been hugged by foreigners (everyday folks like you and me) who in pouring tears are grateful beyond words because of the positive results the USA has made in their lives! Been there, done that!

What concerns me is that there are many now who may soon get into government who would be happy to criticize and degrade our intelligence capabilities for their own short-term political gain. And there are many folks out there who would believe their demagoguery. This is a threat to the country.
