THE most underrated band ever to come out of Oz. Deserved to be global superstars, but never got the recognition they deserved. Musicianship, vocals and originality off the scale. This and The Unguarded Moment are among my favourite (cult) pop classics of all time

Just saw The Church tonight at Gramercy Theatre, a mere 42 years since I first saw them as a 14 year old on their first album tour. What a legend these guys are! Steve is in great form at age 68 and they were presenting their 26th album, The Hypnogogue, an instant masterpiece. But they brought down the house playing Tantalized as their next to last song. 10-minute 3-guitar aggression- absolute trance-like experience. Check their tour dates and go see them - incredible show !

Our band was in the same studio as Church when they rehearsed this album. They'd jam on a chord, Steve yelled out the changes. They had heavy duty drawers full of echo and chorus pedals and there were bongs and guitars everywhere.

one of my favourite bands excellent music...I was fortunate enough to have played in a support band and supported a lot of big bands in the 80's.We supported the Church at San miguel at cammeray.I was blown away by their performance.A tantalised experience I can even remember some older local guy getting up on stage and playing the spoons..security please...........

i love smoking and listening to this album. i was in high school when this came out. it was like MANNA from heaven. their guitar interplay is brilliant (and not highlighted enough in the production) and the lyrics are generally very elliptical and strangely poetic. a good friend saw The Church open for Echo & the Bunnymen...I can only imagine how great THAT was!

I wouldn't say I have everything by the band but I am pretty darned close. This track nearly killed my love for them very early on. I had loved the first three albums. They were like a trilogy to me then this came along. It was different. More loud and raucous, possibly too much for a small town boy like me to take. Thankfully, EMI made a great move releasing Disenchanted and my faith in The Church was restored. Some fans found the band with Heyday. They nearly lost me and, controversially, I wasn't too impressed with much of Starfish either.
