The Church never stopped. That said, this record is especially strong.

Same Here! However, that’s not saying much being I was introduced to The Church as well as The Smiths and Decembrists - in 2005 by a coworkerr who had no way not to know I was obsessed with Robyn Hitchcock) r i’m not sure if it’s cuz there’s Such Similarities and overlap between Hitchcock and Kilby’s voices, styles and sensibility or perhaps because I became obsessed with Smiths/Morrissey as well as The Decemberists I was referred to within the same col weeks, But I never went any further then to have Milky Way and Reptile as staples of my music library. That was until last night when strange past came thru my feed so randomly and I saw ppl saying whah you did I thankfully clicked Then I was just enraptured by their 4 song WKRX Seattle performance off this album. I actually like that version better than this. You’re gonna wanna chk that out if you have not!

Just beautiful! “ Take your time, my friend, love finds you in the end” Love these Lads. So much work, effort, talent in this crew. They continue to make new music and bring it on the road. This is so good. 🙏🙏🙏

I’ve loved this band since the late 80’s. I can’t believe they are still churning out such beautiful music as this. I’m a huge fan and this has already made it to being one of my absolute favorites by them.

Happy to hear that there is new material coming from one of my favorite bands of all time!

This really sounds fantastic. It sounds like a brand new band who’s been on the road and now can record from a greater deeper perspective. Kilbey sounds better than ever.

The video for this is exceptionally well done. The multi layered effects, tv screens, amazing Asian woman and costume. Lighting effects, etc. One of the best Church videos ever. Hats off to all involved.

The 'Eros Zeta and The Perfumed Guitars' CD will be released worldwide on 29 March 2024. It looks like it contains the 6 tracks that were added to The Hypnogogue (deluxe) plus another 9 tracks

Yes, but did you expect anything less? These guys are amazing. How many years into the career? How many iterations hit the band the band is not just Steve. Steve is the nucleus, but he always has the most amazing electrons playing around him. They are amazing, the church forever.

Steve's vocal delivery on this song reminds me a lot of Paul Banks of Interpol. Every time I listen to this song, there are parts where it sounds like a Church/Interpol collaboration.

Hmm, I was hoping for more. This really does sound like a Steve Kilbey solo record. I may still see them this fall, but am not excited by what I'm hearing.

Take the plunge and go to the concert. I caught it twice earlier this year (in Australia); this latest line up breathes new life into the older Church material. Concert featured many deep cuts into the back catalogue as well as the new album.

I agree...trying to like it but it's not going too far. I like the layering and the style though. I wish they would release more songs from the upcoming album so I can make a better decision.
