The Children of Bodom Official Book Launch

Музыка

Henkka, Jaska & Janne announce the launch of the first official Children Of Bodom book.
The guys comment:
”Since we started doing the ‘Tales from the depths of Lake Bodom’ -series here on social media we have been asked a lot about when we put our stories in one book! During the last two years we have been actively gathering memories and stories from all those 30 years. It’s about time for a proper Bodom storybook!“

    The day Alexi died it triggered a panic attack in me. Been to shows but never had the courage to tell you all thank you for your music. I never met Alexi but I felt like I lost a friend, an idol, and music teacher. I'll forever regret never telling him how much he changed my mind musically.

    I cried for days. Each day I woke up it was the first thing I thought of. I couldn't listen to Bodom for a long time after he passed. My favorite band and shredder ever! Saw them 6 times and so sad we'll never get to see such a great show by them again hit me so hard. RIP WILDCHILD COBHC FOREVER!

    Im from the US and ive been a fan since i got introduced to you guys since the early 2000s and really helped me through high school, and most recently when my grandmother died of literally the same thing that ended his life.i felt pain when Alexi died because ive had him screaming and shredding riffs in my brain for YEARS and still do, but its when i have the thought "whats he coming out with now" and i immediately get sad because he was an absolute saint in my eyes because he looked out for people despite his own battles and demons, and i never met the guy.. but you guys are the soul of Children Of Bodom and yes we know Alexi had some rock bottom moments. I cant wait to read your point of view of everything from before COB and after COB was formed. I appreciate you guys🙏 RIP WildChild🙏🙏

    So, according to the stories, aren't you the guys who prevented Alexi Laiho from going on with the "Children of Bodom" name when you chose to leave the band ? And now you're making a CoB book ?

  • @jmbullet

    @jmbullet

    Жыл бұрын

    Alexi willingly sold his shares in COB to them. Nobody forced anyone. And it wouldn't have been COB without them anyway, so it was the right thing to do. For having been in a relationship with an alcoholic/addict, I can guarantee you that being business partners with one, as much as you love them, would be an insanely difficult endeavor and these guys have managed to keep it going for so many years, they should be praised, not scolded. I had and still have a lot of admiration for Alexi, but it would be quite hypocritical to assume he was innocent. He made life choices that were terrible for him and for the band and it's not fair to the other band members he left behind. I don't think they left COB because they wanted to, I think they left COB because there was just no way it was going to work anymore and when a situation becomes toxic and you cannot fix it anymore it's usually best to just leave it. You don't end a 20+ year band on a whim, especially with the strong friendship these guys had/have, that decision was probably years in the making, and not from lack of trying to fix it first. If they could choose, I'm sure the guys would want both Alexi and COB alive and well.

    A Children of Bodom book sounds like a great idea! I'll surely be signing up. But while you're still thinking about ideas for the future, how about instrumental-only Karaoke versions of the entire COB catalog? Instrumentally, you guys aimed for the stars and were absolutely without peer, but Alexi's vocals left alot to be desired and were the weakest part of COB's music, as I know he was the first to agree. Instrumental-only albums would reach a whole new and much-broader fan base and would appeal especially to the burgeoning field of folks making KZread reaction videos. I think album and download sales would be significant. I know I'd want the entire catalog!

  • @jmbullet

    @jmbullet

    That's assuming they still have the multitracks from all albums, which in my experience with studio recordings, is not that likely, especially for the oldest albums. I'm not saying it's impossible, just saying it's unlikely. The next best thing would be to try an AI vocal remover. It might not yield perfect results but I think that's your best luck for karaoke versions. The good news is that you can do it yourself and listen to them all you want.

    @@GlobalTossPot We saw enough of them. They should make a book instead of bar. They should say goodbye and reveal their story sooner, instead waiting for an year and obviously making up some of the facts. Years changes nothing. What is going on is not right - past band with past band members keep making money from a dead project after the frontman left and passed away. This never comes to an end. Do you think it's easy to us fans who's been with the band for an entire life and supported them at every step to see those small dying tries to revive something that ended so ugly? What's the point? Who wins? Last COB show was at Tavastia 2019. There's no band anymore, no activity and nothing to hope for. Alexi is gone, it's over.

    @Aries WildChild Children of bodom died with alexi. And now his former band members trying to make as much money as they can with the name Children of bodom. They are living in old glory.Alexi wrote over 90% of their songs. He was the mastermind behind CoB. Janne and co. should leave the past behind and start something new.

  • @GlobalTossPot

    @GlobalTossPot

    @@MM-db7bi Alexi gave them the rights to the name when the band broke up so they technically can do whatever they want with it. People keep saying they are making money off Alexi’s name when they’re not. I mean sure, all of their new merch and stuff is expensive for what it is but they’re not using Alexi’s music and name to continue the Children of Bodom branding. At the end of the day, a band is technically a business and when there’s still money to be made; they will still make money off it. Anyone would do the same. If fans want to keep supporting the COB name by buying shirts, books etc so be it. You’re still supporting the band for what it was and you’re getting something out of it aka merch and memorabilia. It’s as simple as; you don’t like what they’re doing don’t buy anything and move on with your life end of fcking story. And Jaska was a founding member of the band with Alexi so he has just as much right to do whatever he pleases
